A lot of people wanting PP out (I'm starting to agree), but who would we get in his place? Pearson has just gone to Watford, and Stendel is as good as Hearts manager. So that's the two completely obvious-as-**** absolute standout candidates from last time we were looking, gone. What a ****ing shambles.

It’s been a terrible appointment, we knew before he came in, we missed the boat with the obvious candidates in Stendel and Pearson.

No way does the owner have the cojones to admit his glaring error and remove the manager so we are stuck with him.

I’m avoiding getting involved in the off the field carry on, but the manager, coaching and recruitment staff are absolutely shambolic.

Every bit of this is down to the person who made the decision to keep JR after the playoff loss, and recruit a manager who never looked a fit.

For me, the players are only a small part of the blame, but of course a far bigger part of the issue.

Less blame, because they simply aren’t good enough and should never have been recruited in the first place, we have bought appalling players even for this level, we have bought weak characters and even less ability.

The season is gone, it’s 3 years 3rd tier, and the owner has to take all the responsibility of the state of the club.

You can be as affable as you like, but they’ve absolutely ****ed it. They need to find money to completely rebuild the playing staff from scratch (bar 3-4 tops).

I can’t even begin to comprehend what we are seeing and being fed. We look beaten every time we step on the pitch.

It’s a long way back, even to the Championship. There’s biting off more than you can chew and then there’s this, setting a 7 course meat banquet for an atom.

If he was any more out of his depth with a club this size he’d be a rock in the core of the earth.

    Its painful.

As @Nads says, can't see Parkinson being sacked. Neither can I see any other manager making much of a difference because we have an average League 1 team and therefore can't expect anything other than an average League 1 finish. The only hope is that we could bring someone in who would give everyone a lift. The obvious person in that case is Phillips but I wouldn't be surprised if he followed Pearson to Watford, another of his former clubs.

Parkinson just said we played okay, were unlucky and we would have taken a point before we started all day. If this is what he thinks afer losing 8 out of 12 games in charge he has to go tonight.

Dunno, I think that's a fair assessment of the situation. He clearly recognises that the team isn't good enough too.

I'd normally agree about the manager not making a big difference but I think Parkinson is setting us up all wrong. If Phillips sets us up to play it on the ground and have a go at the opposition, which I believe is what he wants to do, it could turn things around.

this is Shorts fault by the way. Steve mclaren ooh, when did we last keep n away clean sheet in the league ?, will Grigg EVER score again for us did he bring the jonah tag with him ?. leaving that amount of players on our bench the Gills manager must have been rubbing his hands and laughing.

I'd agree that Parkinson is getting it wrong on the technical side of things. There's more to be squeezed out of that team (I think Ross was maybe getting the most from them) but there's a ceiling that they're not going to break through. Splashing the cash in Jan is the key.

It is like I'm nervous about what capacity we have to do so. It's essential we get it right, feels like the thirtieth time I've said that but it's more true than ever.

As has been said, I think this season has gone. I don't think that would have been the case if Ross was still here and Jan would have been the chance to get the players in to push for automatic. Now we're looking at a scenario where we're looking to bring players in to push for the playoffs. It's a difficult one but sacking Parkinson might eat into any transfer funds we have so it's possible that we have to trust that he can bring in the players to play his way.

I was not alone when the starting team was announced to expect the worst...

The starting team, very defensive and the tactics, boot boot hoof...are all Parkinson he has to go...it was a huge mistake appointing him

Donald is too vain to admit he was wrong to appoint him in the first place. Will be too late when he does like McMenemy

I normally support whoever comes in until they at least get a bit of time, and i felt PP needed the transfer window and a bit at least.

Tbh after the time he has had and the backward steps since Ross went, he can fook off now for all i care.

I would have preferred Stendel or Pearson but now them ships have sailed and the current owner probably willing to stick , it looks like a mid table finish in league one and hopefully another season in this league rather than the bottom one if we're lucky.

Wasn't endeared to Phillips mainly due to his lack of experience but would have him here tomorrow now,
We cannot get any worse and the fans would welcome him.

And yes, ball on the ground please.

Strange how so many other managers ( eg wilder, bowyer, stendel ) have inherited much lesser teams in terms of numbers and quality and managed to get promoted.
Like ross, PP is a dud and it doesnt matter how much you change the playing personnel, managers like those 2 set up not to get beat as opposed to winning first and foremost. Problem is the players have their minds polluted with the managers negativity.
The psychological term is learned helplessness I believe.
