Hadn’t actually put much thought into who could replace Corbyn but I agree, he has assembled such a bunch of morons and top of that pile has to be Abbott, it is farcical. Labour need a clear out, I tell you who I would consider voting for if he cleared away the dross and was put in charge, David Milliband
Another point... There are hardcore Labour and Conservative voters, they’re like machines, the cross goes into the red or blue candidate without any thought, these people don’t decide elections, their minds cannot be changed. I am a typical floater voter, my wife is too, I have zero allegiance to any party. My best mates dad is a labour councillor and he has been a Labour voter all his life but he voted Brexit. All three of us detest Corbyn and are voting Conservative, my job gets me meeting strangers daily, politics is the number one subject to pop up and I guarantee you it’s 9/10 who genuinely feel the same as me. Yes I’m middle England which probably reflects the demographic vote for Brexit and Conservative but I really can’t tell you how much I’ve gone from floater voter to feeling like leaving the country if Corbyn gets in
I have zero doubt the EU needs a trade deal with us more than we need them, if not we’ll have to start buying local, there will be winners and losers. Many small businesses that do not export will have the chance to flourish
Good for you, nice planning. Greeks, Southern Cyprus?, don't always follow the rules so be careful. I worked in Αθήνα for a few years and they were ambiguous with the regulations, so be careful.
I’m planning on becoming a ****ing selfish twat post Brexit. I’ll be fine as I’m in the demographic and income group the Tories look after. I’ll just organise my affairs to protect my family, pay for private healthcare, and cry crocodile tears for those less fortunate than myself who believed the lies they were told. Sad, but I’ve spent my life not being politically active, brexit was the exception, so it’ll be back to looking after no 1 for me.
After posting that, I asked myself - would I really? And the answer is yes. I think I will. Because I don’t think people who believed the lies were conned. Maybe in 2016 some were, but we’ve had over 3 years of debate since and if people still vote for the Tories, knowing that means Brexit, despite the lies of Johnson and co being obvious, then that’s not because they are stupid or thick (Chesh, you’re the exception that proves the rule here ) it’s because they want it. So they can have it. I’ll be alright jack.
I had the Miliband debate with a staunch labour mate if mine. I actually blame Ed Miliband for a lot of what has gone on since. Like it or not, even he knew his persona made him hard to elect.. floating voters always decide elections and often they go on personality. He had no credibility because he looked like gromit and stabbed his brother in the back... and greased up to the unions to do so... he took the party in a direction that led to corbyn. Had his brother won the leadership it’s highly likely we’d have a centrist Labour Party and the political landscape of the last 5 years would be very different.
Point is though I’d FEEL like leaving the country IF Corbyn got in, I’m happy to remain here with Boris. So Boris in and I’d have no intention of considering a move to Cyprus. Corbyn in I’d move freely if I wanted to as Brexit would be scrapped. Corbyn would strike a deal worse than Teresa May then offer a yes no vote, remainers would vote remain, Brexit would refuse to vote or be forced to vote remain as the deal on the table wouldn’t to be our liking. my preference is Brexit with a deal, then Brexit no deal, then remain, I certainly don’t want a deal that is worse than Teresa May brokered and we all know Corbyn would do that on purpose to get his own way
No idea, I try and get out of London as quickly as possible so I’m not familiar with what areas are good and bad
