Just got a worried message from an old working colleague (also an old friend) in Sheffield who has been a big Wendie fan for as long as I've known him.

Knowing about our loanees last season, he's asked me what I thought about this one.

I had to be honest and now he's upset. Can you offer him any words of comfort? I'll pass them on. <ok>

The only crumbs of comfort I can offer him is it's ONLY three months...........they should have Weaver back for the busy Christmas period...........then they've got the rest of the season to repair the damage caused <ok>

He has great technique with his ball handling skills, the way he picks up the ball out of the back of the net after his latest gaffe is top quality. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Bywater is probably the worst keeper we have had since the donkey we signed from Palace in the sixties. Parsons. Anyone on here old enough to remember his debut when he saved a penalty but let in four soft goals. I think we lost 4 3 after leading 3 1 with about 15 minutes to go. Some nightmares never leave you.

The way things go I wouldn't be surprised if Bywater has a blinder for them! Hope that is of some comfort because he's not very good is he.

Look Ronny, those are hardly words of comfort. I depressed him enough yesterday, that could drive him over the edge.....<laugh>

Frank Parsons, I even remember Dilwyn John who was likened to the great Gordon West (Everton) and he follow Graham Vernacombe!

A cardboard cutout would have stopped shots on goal.

A cutout would occasionally have got in the way of the ball, Bywater used to move out of the way <doh>
