So the ST/\DIUM only went and won at the Building Awards on Wednesday night https://www.building-awards.com/2019-winners/
The stadium won 2 further awards at The Stadium Business Design & Development Awards 2019... https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2019/november/further-recognition-for-new-stadium/ Being at the game on Tuesday made me look at the stadium again. Firstly, I walked up from Northumberland Park and then around the East and North Stands. Previously, I've approached from Seven Sisters and White Hart Lane stations. It looks stunning from every angle and particularly at night. Secondly, I had opportunity to see the Olympiakos fans reactions, who were suitably very impressed. Finally, I sat fairly high up in the North Stand and the view was excellent. More dates for the stadium tour have been released today, so Mrs B's Christmas won't be another disappointment this year!
Nice to see that picture of the inside of the ground. I fear my travelling days may be at an end. The wife's travelling days are definately finished.Have to put her in the moving chair.I keep telling her "I'm 10 years older. You should be pushing me!"......and her an old sailor too!!!!
My old season ticket was towards the middle center of the West Stand. One of my neighbours used to commute from Brighton with his son.
I'm not sure that's going to be necessary for a while. There are a lot of seats available for tomorrow's game on the exchange. I can't make it - youngest daughter's 16th birthday but if you want to go, you've got nearly every part of the ground to choose from. After the Bournemouth game, I had a few drinks with my younger brother in The Victoria. He came back from Spain to drink there during the game but not go to the match and he isn't sure when he'll go again. I met a few others who told me that they aren't going whilst Mourinho is manager. These are season ticket holders for decades, not disaffected newbies.
This seems to be the case now for most of the normal matches, but they tend to go in the final few hours. Burnley on one of the final Saturday's before Christmas might not match that, though. Tedious prospect. Don't really get this. We had George Graham as manager not too long ago, FFS. Up to them, though.
I know. A mate of mine, who has been going since the late 60's, is one of this minority. This guy is Spurs to his core and has gone home and away for decades. His kids are Spurs, as are his grandkids. Genuinely, he says he won't go to matches until Mourinho's gone. I was pretty gobsmacked. I'll see him again on Satrday night and get to chat more but there are normal, sensible. committed fans who aren't having this right now. I'm with you. It's not the worst thing. For me, the two ex-Arsenal ones were worse and they weren't going to keep me away, either.
Gosh.I remember Terry Neill turning up first day in a flash open top Jaguar. I thought, holy crap.Someone should tell him Tottenham's not for show offs....and he goes on to help us into Div 2 with over the hill players.....something like today!
A post fight interview with Eddie Hearn included this... “Tottenham is a nice new stadium for a UK fight, we’ve got to look at it. There are a lot of options internationally but he does want to box back in the UK. We spoke to Spurs about hosting this fight, which they were keen to do, but unfortunately the dates didn’t work out. They would be keen to do it and it would be a nice stadium to do it in London.” That looks very promising for adding big fights to the events we are hosting. The sooner we can get the stadium hosting big events, the sooner we're likely to land a plum sponsor. The amount that the club are looking for won't come from hosting football alone.
The first gig at the new stadium has been announced. It'll be Guns 'n' Roses on May 29. It's the only appearance in Britain on the tour and I'm washing what's left of my hair that night. Still............Kerrrr-chinnnnggggggg!
