We haven't got over the refereeing shambles v Benfica in '62 or the Mackay leg break of '64.....or Liverpool and Arsenal sell out of 1919!
The Evening Standard is running a story that ‘Pool has rubbished rumours that Stevie G could be brought back on loan and played before the end of the season, so that he can be gifted the title winners’ medal that he was not good enough to earn honestly when he was actually playing the game. Yes, it’s great that the club has flatly rejected and sneered at this proposal, but the fact that it was even suggested is deeply worrying. It offers us all a glimpse of the dreadful sentimentality that we are all going to be forced to endure over the coming years.
Perhaps you could get Darren Anderton on the bench if you ever get to the League Cup final. It would be a nice gesture.
Scholesy came out of retirement to win another league title although not quite in the same way that Gerrard is trying to. Scholesy could probably improve United's midfield now.
I'm just saying it would be a nice gesture to get a club legend back to celebrate your clubs only achievement since 2008 if Jose can get you there again.
It's actually quite insulting to Gerrard. It would be embarrassing for him to even consider it and I highly doubt he'd do so. That's even if you choose to ignore the fact that he's fairly busy managing Rangers, where he might win his own league title.
That's odd, because to everyone else it looks like you just pointed a 12-gauge at your foot and pulled the trigger...
