The Leyton Orient attendance was given as being a whopping 865 { Eight Hundred And Sixty Five } and I understand that included over One Hundred travelling O's fans !!, Looks as if we are really embracing this competition again this year. Even 'IF' we were to go all of the way I think the fan count for the final would be pretty P*** Poor .
3rd Round Draw on Sky Sports News Later This Evening { 19.45 } with possible opponents being : Stevenage, Walsall, Newport County, Portsmouth, MK Dons, Ipswich Town and X - Zedder.
Its not a well liked competition. Since the prem sides youth teams joined, its liked even less. The reason for why they joined is to allow young home grown players from the top teams to get match experience. Yet they don't allow L1 and L2 teams play our youngsters to get them match experience. Why 1 rule for 1 and another rule for the rest? Then if you look at the team sheet from the prem sides, most are not home grown players. Instead of helping the future England/Wales/Scotland/Ireland youngster stars, we are helping other nations youngsters. A lot of people think that if we accept the prem teams then it opens the door to prem teams being allowed in the football league and will end up killing the lower leagues. Good thing is, the Southern section has no prem sides left. So maybe some more people may attend. But some will continue to stick 2 fingers up at the football league until the prem teams are no longer involved.
If the Premier league want their players to get match experience why don't they send them out on loan to the league 1 and 2 sides that don't have the money they do instead of sending them to teams abroad and letting them play against their parent clubs if they should meet them in a cup competition then they could assess the progress that said player has made
