Quality cards tomorrow at both Aintree and Sandown Park but I say Racing gets a right kick in the old teeth from ITV who relegate it onto ITV4 preferring instead to put ‘Nadia’s Family Feasts’, ‘Gino’s Italian Express’ and an episode of ‘Midsomer Murders’, from 2000, which must have been aired at least 9,000 times before, on the main channel. In saying that though I do enjoy a good episode of ‘Midsomer Murders’ and once got quite giddy when I correctly identified the murderer (although not as giddy as I got when I did the same in an episode of ‘Columbo’ a couple of weekends ago). But the best thing about ‘Midsomer Murders’ has to be that in every episode the last 15 minutes bear no relation, whatsoever, to the previous 105 minutes!

But back to the old point, as I seem to have wandered off on something of a tangent, that is quite some demotion, from the broadcaster, for the old Racing of the morrow, people.

But the powers that be at ITV and the celebrity presenters on the show will be selling it like its the best thing since, well, the last sliced bread option...!!

I’ve often thought about this. Why don’t racing U.K. and sky racing put their content out free to air ? it would give a great boost to the sport. I can see it now all those pensioners spunking their children and grand children’s inheritance.

to be honest I am just grateful that racing still receives any terrestrial coverage at all.
without it the sport would be dead.within a few years.

BBC radio have now cut their racing correspondent, and so will clearly hardly ever cover racing again, which I feel is a great shame.

For once I find myself agreeing with you Steveo. I remember watching some of the racing with my grandad on bbc back in the day. The television coverage of the grand national was first class back then too and who can forget class interviews such as Des Lynam chatting to Jenny Pitman. It used to be a major family event too for us, spending the afternoon watching the coverage and building up to the main race. I do look back on those days with fond memories...

I think the Tingle Creek is an absolute belter this season and much better for Altior not being there to scare everyone off. There should be a good strong pace and I can see plenty of them still swinging along coming to the pond fence, none more so than (hopefully) my old favourite Sceau Royal. I really hope there is no more appreciable rain as he should be bang there on good to soft and at 6/1 this evening he is a stonking good bet.

I'd have preferred to see Waiting Patiently running in the Many Clouds at Aintree as I can't see him having the speed to win this. That Aintree contest looks at the mercy of Native River but it would be great to see him and Might Bite going at it hammer and tongs again.

That novice chase at Sandown looks a corker, you’ve got Torpillo from that good novice race versus Nube Negra who has impressed so much with his jumping.

Grand Sancy starting off in this is quite something, he has the hurdles class but he’s a quirky horse at the minute. Then you’ve got Summerville Boy who I can’t have at all. He didn’t impress me at all last time

Torpillo for me, with a saver on Nube Negra

I've got Torpilo down as needing it soft Nass - am I doing him a dis-service? Nube Negre has been very impressive so far and is my idea of the winner.

He looks a proper soft ground horse. The ground today looked testing and expect same tomorrow. Nube is more of a top ground horse on his action I’d say. Jumping out of soft would be a concern for him at this point.

Most of the chase course is good or good-soft according to turftrax. Hurdles course much softer as always.

Surely Waiting Patiently is the Ew bet of the day tomorrow with the ground as testing at is, the pace they will go tomorrow should set the race up perfectly for him whether he will be good enough tomorrow on the day to win is something else but just can’t see him out the places!!

He is the great unknown in that race. I can’t have him at all to be honest, if I had to bet in the race I’d go Politilogue who I thought ran a blinder at Cheltenham. It’s a race though that on paper could go to a few of these.

my Tricast would be Politilogue, DDS and Janika.

i’m in your camp wooly , pace in those conditions will surely defeat the two mile speed merchants , the stronger stayers will be able to pick up the pieces , i know the yard get slagged by some , but they’re in a run of form atm , and this is the stable star , who is still relatively young mileage wise , at 12/1 it’s well worth an ew bet

Going to Aintree today, I’m hoping Clyne in the 13.00 can win to boost the funds for my 3 bets in the Becher Chase, Walk in the Mill, Mulcahys Hill and Le Breuil. Have a good weekend fellas :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0148-yes:

her handicap mark is not a reflection of her form either. No idea how they got to that mark!

I’m of the mind that front runners might be hard to catch. I backed ornua in the novices chase last year and was really impressed, jumping like a stag only to get beat on the run in. I think 50/1 is good value ew.
