Paris Duvet 6/1 Dundalk 6.15 - an apprentice handicap for this horse today having shaped well over the mile here last time out, leading into the final furlong before being caught in a bunched finish to finish 4th. Back down to 7f and, having been eased 2lb in the handicap I think he ought to go very close tonight. Being an apprentice race, young O'Connor takes 7lb off his back as well. DeBromhead usually does well here with the few he sends up and this looks a winnable race with the likelihood there is more improvement in Paris Duvet than most of this rather exposed field. Time shall tell. Good luck all
Nice boost for Fergal O’Brien (not that he needs one) with Quick Grabim moving to his yard from Willie Mullins
afternoon, folks! sandown,2 25: this looks very competitive, despite the relatively small field.i think,HAPPYGOLUCKY has a more than decent shout on his recent form.his debut win was already impressive enough, even though its debatable, what he beat that day.so,his last effort was even better,in defeat, behind the likes of thyme hill and co at cheltenham last time out, where he finished a respectable third.that looks very good form to me,so he gets the nod here.
Ofalltheginjoints for me, I like that Kempton form and the Skelton horse that beat him is going to be a lovely chaser.
sandown,2 55: strictly on form, its hard to make a case for old LOOSE CHIPS,but ive been a fan of him for years now,so i cant turn him down today.was well beaten last time out,but he usually takes a few runs to to peak, and at least he was making a bit of ground again here last time out,so it wasnt a totally bad run at all.wouldnt surprise me,were he to run a big race from the front.good rider booked too.
Two for me this evening over at Dundalk 6:15 - Cappadocia 10/1 7:45 - Sheisdiesel 13/2 Win singles and win double
I know this is the realm of Sir Barney with his lovely name for a mare etc but whoever named the market leader in the 6:00 at Newcastle wants a big pat on the back... Yuri Gagarin out of Sea Then Moon & Soviet Terms, with the Sam's sire being Soviet Star... Currently a 4/7 shot so no one is going to be shooting for the stars even if he wins...
Yep, always a cause for slight concern isn't it. No outcome on the result tonight as the winner wasn't for stopping with Paris Duvet back in a never nearer 5th, using a fair bit up early to get to the front from the wide draw as eluded to by Dimitar, might need to fall another few lbs before managing a win.
