My take re. Phillips' replacement is to first ask the question "Will 'Udders play 1 or 2 up front"?

If it's 2 up front, then I think we'll play 3 at the back, with a general CM, rather than a specialist DM.

If 1 up front, then it'll be 2 CBs & a DM. I don't buy this White story, personally. Looks like a bit of deliberate misinformation to me, so I think the boy McCalmont will step in for Phillips. Easily. (Unless he's injured, but I'm not up to speed enough on that to comment).

I've watched Shackleton play as DM too, but think his attacking skills would be wasted as a DM. Gotts has also occasionally played DM & is a dark horse who shouldn't be ruled out. I think it's far too early for Jenkins to step up from the u23s. Too much of a gamble, imo.

Bet we're all wrong though - it'll be Dallas!

See from the Bielsa press conference Shackleton is out injured again, that's why White plays DM. Says to me we have a thin squad and no one in the U23s is ready to step up. As 'Arry' might say, we're down to the bare bones.
