I won't be holding my breath Pete but he has improved in last few games. Perhaps Saturday will be the day? Chants of "Gary, Gary". As we once chanted "USA, USA"..........
I was at Forest and there was a marked improvement in his play, but, like you say, I won’t hold my breath either!
Ah, the good old days. One sub on the bench. A defender if away, a striker at home. Outfield players donning the gloves if a keeper gets injured. What year was our first sub scull?
It was in August 65, first game of the season at home to Bury. In those days you could only use the sub for an injured player. Colin Baker got injured so David Summerhayes was brought on, just a few minutes after Keith Peacock had become the League’s first ever sub for Charlton. Another ten games went by before we used a sub again, also Summerhayes, at home to Coventry. Georgie Johnston was our 2nd substitute a couple of games later.
Thanks bluescull. Suppose I could have googled it, but good to get it from someone in the know who can add more context. I was 18 months old at the time so don't remember it.
Yer right there Andy, the wife says I've only got 2 faults . . I don't listen, and . . er . . something else!
