Indeed. Had a bit of a soft spot for him on the debate but glad he wasn't on the main commentary team recently. I love how he morphed into some kind of weird archetypal old bloke, but he added his own middle name (Dylan) because he was a right hippy. Good stuff. RIP.
I got married that weekend. The cricket was the highlight of the weekend. They call it the Botham test, but it was Willis and Botham who won that match. Sad day. I shall raise a glass with my wife tonight.
RIP.....lad. You were a credit to your sport and mankind. Didn't realise that he was ill, or in his 70's. F*ck i'm getting an old bastard too. Got to be opening the bowling when he get's upstairs.....had a mean bouncer on him. Him and 'Beefy'....what a pair!
RIP., Bob Dylan Willis, great sportsman and knowledgeable pundit, and good taste in music. Late diagnosis of the big C evidently,
Definitely ranks as one of my favourite cricketers in my lifetime. Consistently good, despite having dodgy knees. A great character. Loved to watch him on 'The Verdict'. Think he would have been great on a forum like this. A sad loss to cricket. RIP Sir!
Just re-watched the clip that SAFCY posted. That bouncer to Trevor Chappell was just brilliant. Fast, chest high rising to the head - simply unplayable. I'm sure it would have gotten many a modern day cricketer out.
