... of a man. From ... ... "The former Arsenal man went as far as to say that he would work for nothing in an interview with the 'Guardian'." To ... ... "Former Macclesfield Town manager Sol Campbell has backed a bid from HM Revenue & Customs to wind up the League Two club. The High Court was told on Wednesday that the 45-year-old, who now manages Southend, is owed £180,000 by the club." Loves the game so much that he'd rather put a club out of business than waive his fees. I'd be horrified if he ever came near our club.
Lord of the manor these days ain’t he? I seen a video where he had the full tweed and riding boots etc, only thing missing was the ferking monocle From Plaistow too.....talk about forgetting wtf you come from.
Greedy bastard will already be a multi millionaire. Shows that these mercenaries have no feeling or empathy for any club or it's supporters.
What a fecking kunt. He earned around 100k a week when he made his free transfer to Arsenal, thats not even that much money to him. Thats the equivalent of me wanting the same to happen to my old employees and potentially losing 100s of workers their livelihoods because im owed 500 quid.
He's not a nice person is he? Accused us of all kinds of abuse in a game that never happened. And wished administration on a club on the bones of its arse. Stay classy Sol.
The same Sol Campbell that said football was systematically racist simply because no one wanted to employ a self-righteous **** stain who has absolutely no respect for anyone or anything besides himself? In the first job that the racist football industry decided to give him he quits unexpectedly and sues the club who employed him. Perfect in my opinion.
I wonder if the OP would be happy if he had been promised money for his bodyguard work by rich Russians who then refused to stump up the cash... Anyone who does a hard day's graft should deserve to get paid for it. I don't know why Sol should forget about the money he is owed as if he was working as a volunteer for the local food bank
I do think people are unfairly associating this with Campbell. He has a right as a creditor to a share of what is paid out, he hasn't come out with a placard asking for Macclesfield to be shut down. Of course he can afford it, but likely so can many of their creditors, why is he different?
Far worse than administration - the winding up order can close the club (a la Bury) Possibly my least favourite person football has ever had. TBH I think less of him than I do Jimmy Hill! And I celebrated him dying the ****!!
the point is that he said he'd happily work for nothing and now he's asking HMRC to put a club which are in his debt out of business. I agree as a creditor he's entitled to his money - but why does he publicly do this unlike the lesser known creditors who, potentially, could be relying on this money to pay wages.
If he had a scrap of decency, and common sense, he'd avoid saying a word publicly. Things like this should never me mentioned outside of him and the club. He's always complained about his difficulty in finding clubs to take him on ... .... he should look at his own behaviour, over active imagination and big mouth to give him a clue as to why. Idiot.
What do you mean 'publicly'? What had he done? These are court proceedings, he hasn't done a press release. The only reason we know about this is because a journalist was in court and noted that he supports the claim.
What I mean is that there's no need for him to state, himself or through his lawyer, that he wants the club wound up. It's only necessary for him to claim the amount due. Its up to the courts to determine whether the club should be put out of business. My point is that Campbell begged for a chance to manage, for nothing if that was the case, and now he's showing his true colours ... ... the colour of money.
