No added time! ****ing bullshit. 2-1 FT. Mourinho's still **** at Old Trafford. Got the team selection, tactics and bench wrong, took too long to make changes and didn't sort out the obvious weaknesses. That was awful. Created virtually nothing.
Well that was disappointing. We never really turned up. Rashford will get the plaudits and he did run us ragged but I thought McTominay was outstanding in their midfield and was a huge factor in them winning the game. Mourinho has a lot of work to do, especially in midfield.
****ing dogshit performance. All on Jose. Any manager who starts a Sissoko-Winks partnership needs their head checked. That Utd team is ****ing **** and yet we were outplayed for 80+ minutes. First proper big game and Jose’s failed miserably.
Jose is not so special if he cannot see Harry Winks is a championship player at best. Now that Dele is firing and you watch Ndombele you can see that Sissoko was only good because others were poor. Yet again, the manager got it all wrong. Winks and Sissoko is like watching England when Milner and Barry used to play - hopeless. So angry that Winks is a local Spurs lad, only reason he gets a game.
That's what you get for such a stupid, foolish starting eleven at Old Trafford. Jose of all people, should've known better then to try to take liberties up there.
McTominay's return was very timely. Fred and Pereira again would have been unthinkable. Rashford turned up - which he has done on a fairly regular basis this season (every 2 games in 5). Coming up against Aurier helped.
You can't play Winks in a 2 man midfield. It's 4-3-3 or the bench. Tonight was a night to frustrate them and the crowd and play on the break. So, we went 4 up front, started like we were half asleep and let them rip us to bits. ****ing dreadful. If we're going to play like Pochettino's still in charge, can we get him back again?
Yes we were poor, but that was a very marginal penalty. It's one where the ref can give it whichever way he wants and you can't argue, which means it's going to the team in red. That's their seventh penalty of the season unbelievably (well not that unbelievable actually). There should also have been a few minutes extra added time, and is it "a thing" that you don't add on a single second to the added on time? They had a throw in that period that must have taken a minute.
We can't play against anyone that presses us. It doesn't matter how bad they are, if they run at us we turn into wet cardboard. West Ham sat off us but as soon as they started to rush us they got back in the game, same with B'mouth, Brighton pressed us all game and we lost 3-0. We can't cope with it, our best results have come against sides that sat off us(excusing City who were wasteful). I'm no fan of Jose and think the changes in our results have been more to do with the extra boost you get from a new manager but I don't think anyone can sort this out quickly. There's 5 or 6 that need to go, 3 new players that need to settle into the team and another 3 or 4 we need replace some of the dead weights we already have.
This result has cost me an absolute packet tonight. Every other result has gone my way but now I won't get a decent return. I'm well disappointed, I thought Jose was better then this.
The problem in midfield wasn't Winks and Sissoko. It was that Aurier was all over the place and Lucas wasn't covering him which left Sissoko playing RB half the time and Winks outnumbered.
Wish there was a way we could transfer Lamela’s injuries to Winks. I can’t wait for the day we bin that waste of space off. A few others can join him though, he weren’t the only poor performer tonight but it’s the fact he’s always dogshit that does my nut in. If he weren’t from the academy fans would hate him more than they did Sissoko in his first two years.
Four minutes, most of which was used up with timewasting and nothing was added at all. The penalty was three minutes and six individual subs is another three minutes. Winks got treated, Lingard got treated. It's not four minutes. Compare that to the 7+ minutes we had against Bournemouth.
We looked better (albeit marginally) when Ndombele came on. Surely that says something about the midfield?
Playing Moura, Son and Alli doesn't work. It exposes our defence too much and leaves the midfield wide open. Aurier was good in the other games because he wasn't playing fullback. The same with Vertonghen. We need a creative outlet instead of either Moura or Son, with the Brazilian likely making way. Stick Eriksen or Lo Celso in there, keep the three at the back and we might actually have a few chances. Kane got literally no service all night.
