I don’t think we’ve got the personnel at CB to play across that line, or at least they’ve not got the confidence. I have always been a promoter and defender of Keep ball, but for now it doesn’t suit us. Ralph got his best results last season with about 35% possession in some games.
The last time I watched this fixture it ended 1-1. Could be a repeat , although the scorers won't be Mick Channon and Phil Boyer.
That’s a good summary of the current squad, and what it shows is that 25% are ‘off’ form etc. Cedric, Pierre, Nathan. They clearly aren’t ‘bad’ players by any means, Redmond’s recent performances are where he was 2 years ago, so I cannot put my finger on why this is so as all 3 are off the boil at the same time. Coaching, unconvinced about tactics, team role? Wants away? Maybe none of these is the single reason but possibly 2/3 are.
Bugger. Wife still caring for sickly mum in law opp north so I'm on 'Dungeons and Dragons' transport duty tonight for my nipper. Can't blame Sky/BT/Amazon for this one but still pissing me off. Don't think there are any local pubs I can catch it in either so radio solent in the car I suspect. I might try the laptop with a dodgy stream of Bein 5 from wetherspoons ( I thought about the Prime trial but not impressed with reports on flakyness last night, and I object to them on principle). So a 1990s experience for me tonight, maybe the footy will be at that standard as well.
We agree on Armstrong, the only question being who completes that midfield and I know this divides everyone ... The overly static but disciplined Oriel and/or more mobile but wandering Pierre and/or open play numpty but dead ball king JWP? I think Pierre is better when given a less mobile role in front of the back 4. Wasn’t that what he did so effectively v the Arse? Maybe we should be playing 4411 with Djenepo Armstrong Pierre Sophie the mid 4? If we can get them all fit at once?!?
Nathan’s is clearly lack of confidence , he doesn’t want the ball Pierre doesn’t lack motivation but we have a dysfunctional midfield Cedric? I'm Going to say dysfunctional midfield and shaky defence. He can’t get forward with the confidence that someone is covering for him and So he ends up in no mans land then we lose the ball and he’s out of position for a counter
