Would have preferred to go to their place as that actually equates to more revenue for the club and I've never been to their ground. Ah well always nice to have a Premier League club at Priestfield and another game for @brb to miss <laugh>

There is one sure way for the Gills to win, and that is for me to have a ticket and not turn up...

    Tuesday 24th Febraury 2012: Gillingham 5-4 Hereford

Saturday 5th January 2019: Gillingham 1-0 Cardiff City

Get the ticket and I will be there, if not, a win is nailed on <laugh>

brb - I would have thought that you have been reminded of Hereford enough to remember the correct date --- it was Tuesday 28th., February ....( the 24th was a Friday ).................... I apologise for highlighting your mistake - but - as the 'Apostrophe Society' has disbanded, I have more time on my hands.

Match price has been confirmed at £25 for season ticket holders and people who watched Gills in fa cup against Doncaster. For most others goes up to £30.
Will we get a near sell out or have prices been made little high.

New definition of 'greedy' = Scally....see also Scrooge
Is he utterly mad ? How does he hope to persuade people NOT to watch on BT ** when he sets the ticket price at a ridiculous level --- just like when he forced Spurs to increase their prices by £5 a few years ago.

** not forgetting that before the Gills game, you can watch the Tottenham game followed by the Merseyside derby --- all at NO extra expense let alone £25 or £30 EACH before travel and catering.

I predict under 7000 ( depending on how 'political' Scally will be with his numeracy )

    I still haven't calmed down !
Allegedly the attendance against Sunderland was 5401,with barely 4000 Gills fans bothering to come to arguably the most 'attractive' fixture of the season --- and without the price being hiked to stupid proportions.

Now, just before Christmas, Mr. Scally is expecting people to fork out crazy money - for a game that is already a huge money-spinner before any 'gate' money. He has chosen to punish season ticket holders - as well as everyone else stupid enough to part with a small mortgage, for the privilege of ; driving 100 miles, freezing your nuts off, being told to show your season ticket by an idiot in a Hi Viz, sampling crap food and drink at gourmet prices.

I have given GFC £££ THOUSANDS of my money over many years (( because I have been stupid for at least 99.99% of my life. I think the time has come to show the other 00.01% side of me )).

    I've calmed down...................... a bit !

Having 'slept on it', I am not as outraged with the ticket prices as when I first learned about them - although my assessment remains the same.

I can understand the need for Mr.Scally to maximise the financial opportunity - BUT - he needs to give more careful consideration to all the factors involved - not least the considerable competition he will have from BT Sport............ who are already giving GFC a huge amount of extra - unexpected money by choosing to screen the match.

I had to laugh when read, on the Club's website, that Mr. Scally wanted to reward the most loyal fans with a 'cut-price' deal ! ---- what - by hiking the price....... and make no mistake - this is a price hike (( even the so-called 'discount' price )), - when you compare it with the tickets in Round 2.

I know that GFC needs all the money it can get....... it's a pity none of it ever gets spent on players ! I know we need to balance the books etc etc........... so - why do we throw thousands of free tickets at people who can hardly be called 'loyal' or who need to be rewarded ? ( is any STH getting a refund for us not playing Bury ? ) ----- please don't tell me it's all to do with advertising / marketing - because we just don't see these people return - until the next freebie -- and even then their numbers are dwindling.

I might give a better appreciation of the pricing policy if we didn't have unexpected tv money coming in - but - we are ----- and Mr. Scally needs to understand that supporters will vote with their pockets - supporters cannot treat GFC as a registered charity - whose Chief is taking, from the very same supporters, 10 times, or more, most peoples annual salary.

The price hike is NO reward for any Gills fan - and a real kick in the proverbials for the more dedicated supporter. Mr. Scally might just get a good crowd (( depending on your definition of 'good.' )) - BUT - it will probably contain a lot of people who go to Priestfield once a decade ! and then disappear --- Well, if Mr.Scally is happy with that, then I have to say -- "Good luck" -- BUT - I think that it may create more of a long-term adverse reaction from loyal fans - who truly deserve to be rewarded - instead Mr. Scally might be trying to kill the 'golden goose' before it has had time to get fat...............................

......... and where will it end ? ( some of you might be asking the same question about this post ) -- what price a ticket in Round 4 ?
Will I need to prostitute Mrs alwaysright if we get to Wembley ?? she's already on alert if we get into the championship -- remember the 33% price rise back then -- I was still loyal enough (( new definition of loyal = stupid )), to pay for 3 season tickets........................

.......... oh well -- it's just as well I've not done much of my Christmas shopping -- I have about £25 to £30 to spend on everyone on my list (( some of who I never see from one year to the next )) -- any ideas for a present ? ( none of them are big football fans ) .............. did I say that I had calmed down ?

So with regards to tickets prices, it needs to be reminded we only receive 45% of the total gate receipts on FA Cup games. 45% is shared with West Ham and the remaining 10% is paid to the FA for the competition. Prices are decided between the two clubs but the FA restricts the price range for tickets also. The price difference from last year's Cardiff game will be partly down to West Ham having more interest as they will no doubt sell out their allocation of tickets whereas Cardiff only brought 600 fans last January.
