4 Points from 2 games shows the beginings of a promising little run the Saints are on. I think its fair to say we had an element of fortune against Watford albeit as RH pointed out we did not have this against Arsenal. Nevertheless it showed guts and 'guts is enough in my beloved corps'. Full Metal Jacket. A big mention for Danny Ings who is on an absolutely fantastic run and his goal scoring pressence will give the team confidence when attacking. Is he making a claim for England honours surely and great to see JWP on a huge return to form. Norwich are a decent team and we will need to be compact when defending and Todd Cantwell is playing well for the Canaries. But those tweety little feathered things need putting back in their cage because the Saints are on a league run. More to follow... Remember this !
Cantwell and Piccachu are the two we need to keep quiet. Obviously, we won’t keep them quiet, they’ll link up to score one at the very least, but even if they do we’ll know we can score two against them. Was listening to Martin Keown talking about Arsenal’s inability to defend in recent seasons. Basically it’s something that’s just disappeared from the DNA of the club, an observation that seems to apply to us as well. Dunno how you get that back. Keown didn’t say.
We should have too much for Norwich but we can't afford to start like we did against Watford. Decisions are not always going to be in our favour, and there is also the Kevin Friend factor to be taken into account. If the team feel more comfortable playing at St Mary's we might well win this one, but they have to get at Norwich from the kick off. No messing about on the ball, cut out the slow sideways possession football and rip them to shreds.
Mmmm not sure where that assumption comes from. They are a team who seem to play with a joy and spring in their step. They give everything a “right go” and even could have scored a few against Liverpool. I’m one of the sandal wearers on here, yet I’m a little worried about tonight.
Pleased with the second half on Saturday. Would like to see three changes from Saturday, Long, Boufal, Romeu for Obafemi, Redmond and Hojbjerg. I also think its time give Adams some minutes from the bench.
And, perhaps, we could rip to shreds the feckin’ “fans” who seem to delight in booing their players and hurling abuse because they turn sideways or back whe there is nothing on up front. I saw this Saturday and got so annoyed because then the players (and there’s no doubt it effects them) just pumping the ball forward to no one because of it. Yes, please start Boufal instead of Redmond and Valery instead of Cedric (who is woeful at the moment) and get straight at them. But (and I can’t make it unfortunately) fans, PLEASE get behind the team and start the way we finished on Saturday. The players need confidence and booing and hurling abuse doesn’t help
We also gave liverpool a good game and drew against Arsenal. Results wise we seem quite evenly matched. I do think we can play better against the lesser teams than we are now. If boufal starts I rate our chances. I think he is by far the best player for breaking down teams.
Not too sure about that Jonny. He has scored some goals lately that's true, but his general play has been very poor. It's a toss up between him and Bertrand who I'm going to make my new scapegoat. It's at times like this that everyone should have a hate figure and I'll decide which one after Wednesday.
Was hoping that when Yan came on he was going to be that shining beacon of last season, so we can put Cedric out to pasture as he prepares for his new dream job. But it wasn't to be. RB is still very much a weakness. I really can't see what Ralph can do to solve this. We have to take our chances to stand any chance of getting a result because we will continue to concede simple goals.
