I've had a few boats and we always say to guests,

'Please enjoy the ride but remember this can go from being laughably enjoyable to stomach flipping scary very quickly'.

I believe this is the situation for Donald and he's trying to hold his nerve so the passengers don't see him panic.

But the tide is turning ....

As I always said, staffing issues.

It's all down to the future involvement of the current owners/shareholders.

Whether he sells or not there's only Donald who can decide, if he refuses no one can make him ...

... he must be under enormous pressure.

Are you saying the Yanks have given Stewie enough rope to hang himself?

Wouldn't it be ironic if the staffing issue involved Ross and his staff....

I believe you. The loan doesn't make sense in any other circumstances.

Yeah mate, your contacts who swore it was a takeover two months ago are still pulling your leg trying to justify it. You've been had.

How much did they offer? Given that Donald has said they declined to make a bid, this is clearly bullshit, unless you're accusing Donald of lying on the radio 3 weeks ago?

Well that escalated quickly. In my experience, most deals fail because of a valuation gap between the seller and the buyer and that seems odds on what happened here. SAFC wasn’t worth what SD et al paid for it. FPP could see that so the money on the table for a full takeover now would mean SD wearing a massive loss.

So a different deal has been structured that allows SD to try and increase the value of SAFC (by getting promoted) and then FPP take it over later at a higher price. That probably works for both sides as FPP would still be getting a decent deal for a Championship club and SD would not be getting cleaned out.

I still struggle to see how SD makes a lot of money out of this though. Which was the point of my initial thread. Criticising him for trying to flip the club for a profit is so wide of the mark to be laughable. He will be very lucky to get out of this and break even.

I have to say you're one of the strangest posters I've ever come across.

You spent days, with endless posts, pulling Donald to pieces and made him out to be a deceitful self seeking rogue who'd say absolutely anything to further himself to the detriment of the club.

Now you're completely contradicting everything you've said about Donald and his intentions.

You also seem to have flipped in your attitude to the takeover/investment ...

... I'm no idea if you're currently for or against, it seems to change with the wind.

    Don't worry about explaining.

If Donald's plan had come off we'd be a Championship side with an up and coming manager.

He's now in the position of absolutely having to spend money with no guarantee it will work.

The Americans can just sit back and will win whatever happens.

The only thing that can rescue Donald's plan is for another investor or buyer.

However, if he's signed a deal with the Americans he may have no way out ...

... which is what I believe.

I can't see a way of him getting out of this with a profit now. His decision making has the turning circle of the Titanic. Spending £500k on scouts 18 months too late. Keeping Ross on after losing the playoffs. Hiring a new manager months before a new transfer window.

I used to find him incredibly frustrating but I can see what's coming and I'm starting to feel sorry for the bloke. It looks like SAFC is going to steamroller another naïve owner in quick succession.

Football (and life) is a bitch sometimes, I was sore about the last minute playoff goal but imagine how sick you'd have been if you had millions of pounds riding on it. So close and yet so far.

It is the fact it's secured against all the assets that worries me. I know it's so they can take over in one swoop but what if **** properly hits the fan. Couldn't they also sell buildings off or build on the land? The insecurity of it is what would worry me. Also there is no timeframe / financial aid right now to help.

He’s got issues reiv, I found the way to deal with him is to ignore the twat, he’s just a troll who calls foul when anybody challenges him. Oh and he wears a tinfoil hat so Donald can’t read his thoughts, although they’re probably not worth reading, or maybe so ****ed up you wouldn’t sleep afterwards so......

That last bit was for you km, or Chris or jvokes or whatever persona you have today off you go!

Surely making a bid and discussing a potential sale price can be different things?

When SD say's bid I can see him meaning 'formal' bid, and being a little misleading.
