Yep the score stands - we won 2-1 and that will go down in the record books. My point is while the penalty call is a subjective call (and I don't think it was a pen) there is no debate about Djenepo's handball. Well, there shouldn't have been had VAR done its job properly. But I'm going to leave it now as I don't want to start a row.
That handball was a tough spot. With how quick he moves the ball, and the flash of the arm with that camera angle, it took me four replays to really spot it. So, although Watford will feel aggrieved, its the handball at Newcastle that still remains the glaring error. Spotted that in real time and couldn't believe the guys in the office didn't rule out the goal. Makes a total mockery of these tiny events that are being pulled up. We never needed var, we needed a forth official with the power of a monitor & communication with the ref. It could have been easy.

How many camera angles are there for VAR that they can't see straight away and why are they still looking at it 10mins later?
Good question. I know Sky didn't pick it up straight away. I just think VAR didn't check it particularly thoroughly - there were no appeals for handball and he was probably more concerned with checking if the ball had gone out of play.
You’re gonna leave it because you don’t want to start a row! Ffs, you’ve been involved in a row since 8pm last nite.
So a few things I hope Ralph takes forward from this game: Opposition defences are scared of Boufal and Djenepo, let's get them playing as often as possible. If this means dropping Redmond for a bit, so be it. Obafemi offered very little all game. Swap him for Adams, Redmond through the middle, or Armstrong in midfield: - If we're going 4-2-2-2 it needs to be Adams, he gives a target in the box to cross to that we were missing when we got the ball wide yesterday. - If we're going 4-2-3-1 then put Redmond in, and have Boufal, Redmond and Djenepo switching between themselves and causing chaos - If we're going 4-3-3 put Armstrong in. We can re-visit where Romeu fits in when we get to the games against the top teams again. Stick with Stephens and Bednarek for the next 5 games, you can see their confidence gradually building, and they did well to hold out at the end.
Oh and one other thing, for the game in 2 weeks time against West Ham, PLEASE can there be more carriages on the 20:10 Southampton to Salisbury train!!! I got to know a Watford fan far more intimately than I would have hoped for.....
