That was 90 minutes of cold, painful to watch football followed by a minute of pure relief after the second goal and then another 90 minutes of suffering while waiting for the ref to blow for full time (at least thats what it felt like). Trial by Saints. Happy we made it through though
Whew! what a breathless last 25 minutes! Yet another game of two halves and I predicted a nervy game but not quite as tense as that was!. Boufal is our most creative player and simply has to spend more time on the pitch and we should stick with 4 at the back to accommodate him and Denenpo at least for the home matches. Redders was our best creative option last season but on current form the two mentioned deserve to start ahead of him. Shane still is very good at coming on and mixing it with the oppo and unsettling them, still can't finish though! Getting the 3 points today is massive and it probably helps that we came back for confidence moving forward, the first half was a direct result of the previous two home matches and the players looked like deer in the headlights similar to a Pellegrino performance with square and backward passes creating unnecessary pressure and a negative atmosphere and we could've easily been buried through our own misplaced passing (what was Alex playing at taking on a player?, although tbf he made some crucial stops too). The tempo was much faster in the second half with the forward press working well and we might've scored more than we did in the end. JWP had a mare until he thankfully came up with his moment of class to win it and Cedric is justifiably criticised here as he was a liability before he was replaced. Would still much prefer Maya to partner Bedders as well and maybe try Che up front again with Danny, who was excellent again Looking forward to the Norwich match now as this could be a watershed moment as far as matches at SMS go and I think that the crowd and team will be well up for it but it will still be a pressure match but maybe not the must win that it might've been. COYR!
A goal scored when the ball has struck the hand or arm of an attacker in the build up or while scoring will be disallowed. That is the rule.
I can 100% assure you it wasn’t. Over to you ... Edit. Comical really. I’ll leave it there or we’ll have the mods involved.
I would get rid of Cedric, only use him if we have to, keep Stephens and Bedders in a back 4. Think Djenepo and Boufal need to start every week, they are our most creative players. Think obafemi isn't good enough, would rather can't score to save his life Long for the problems he causes or maybe Adams can come back into the team, as he showed promise early on. One other thing, Ings is total class in everyway, its so good to have a Saints lad through and through in the team, especially one who is as good as he is!
Finally arrived home. In dog house with Mrs No7, as promised not to drink () and have a version of Tourettes that keeps shouting "How **** must you be, we won at home".
