Liverpool v Brighton: Team news Fabinho is Liverpool’s only new absentee for Saturday’s meeting with Brighton and Hove Albion. The midfielder will be out of action until the New Year after sustaining ankle ligament damage during the midweek draw with Napoli. Naby Keita missed that Champions League fixture due to illness, but Jürgen Klopp reported on Friday that the No.8 is fit to face Graham Potter’s team at Anfield. “After the game, from the guys who were involved in the squad [against Napoli], all good. Nothing else apart from Fabinho. Naby is OK,” the boss said. Klopp is awaiting the results of Joel Matip’s latest scan on his knee injury, which takes place on Friday. The centre-back and Nathaniel Clyne remain sidelined. Brighton welcome defender Lewis Dunk back after he served a one-match suspension for their 2-0 home defeat against Leicester City last weekend. The visitors are also boosted by the return of striker Aaron Connolly, who has been in training ahead of the trip to Anfield after a recent groin injury. Seagulls boss Potter revealed Solly March is a doubt for the game due to a groin issue, however, and Bernardo is not yet available. Last match Liverpool 1-1 Napoli (November 27): Alisson, Gomez, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Firmino. Brighton 0-2 Leicester City (November 23): Ryan, Duffy, Webster, Burn, Stephens, March, Montoya, Propper, Maupay, Trossard, Mooy. Gini and Hendo should be ahead of Lallana for that role. It’s borderline suicidal to play Lallana there.
I do think we should try the 4-2-3-1 again with Henderson, Gini and Chamberlain in midfield. Also gets Chamberlain central again which is where he is best
Without Fab to carry the mid, we better hope the boys start banging the goals in. We cannot keep a clean sheet this year and will get bypassed like a sieve, so back to 5-4 thrillers
Team news: Confirmed Liverpool line-up v Brighton Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starts as Liverpool make three changes for today’s Premier League encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield. The midfielder joins Georginio Wijnaldum in replacing the injured Fabinho and James Milner in the centre of the park for the Reds. Elsewhere, Trent Alexander-Arnold returns in place of Joe Gomez in defence, while Naby Keita is back on the substitutes’ bench. Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane, Salah, Firmino. Subs: Adrian, Milner, Keita, Gomez, Lallana, Shaqiri, Origi.
Hendo & Wijnaldum holding in a 4231 or will we stick to 433 with just one if them sat back? Got to be Hendo in the 433 imo
