Just a reminder to anyone boycotting the present set up. You can get your football fix and still support the ex players by attending this event. So far ticket sales number at, erm, none. Thanks for your support.
Big thank you to Not 606 regular Barchullona who has sent a generous donation as he cannot make the night out. Thanks pal it is appreciated.
Hi Urika. There's a copy of The Decade signed by Nick Barmby and Peter Taylor on its way for a raffle/auction/whatever on the night. I'm pretty certain I won't be able to make the night, unfortunately, but these sorts of evenings are utterly fantastic and I can't recommend them highly enough.
Cheers Richard. Are you sending it to me ? You know who I am ? If not pm me. I bought the excellent Decade book, of which I was only too pleased to have a small contribution included, from my local Dove House shop. Excellent piece of work matey, you must be very proud.
I spoke with Rich Skipper recently and I think we settled on handing it on to Jim/Jessie Buckley. Glad you bought and have enjoyed the book. I loved doing the 80s section as that was when I first watched and fell in love with the club. Given the characters we had, with extra time/resources I'd have made that decade a book in itself. And obviously now getting contributions from Skip and Les Mutrie, and having had the opportunity to chat with them, means the world to me. The night sounds fantastic and I'm sure it will be a big success. The launch for my book had a real feelgood factor to it given how wonderful the players were who turned up. I'm sure this evening will have the same.
Just a reminder. The Ex-Tigers fund raiser at Walton Club on Friday Dec 6th ( before the Stoke game) is heading for a sell out, but I have a few tickets left. Bit more info, we have Al Kilvos Two Piano's playing, and I'm hearing Roy North, Barry Rutter and hopefully Tom Courtney will be attending. It is also a celebration/get together of Brian Hortons 84/85 promotion winning team. Great raffle/auction with a load of signed shirts and other stuff. Also we have a collection of Hull City mugs to auction. They have been donated by the widow of City fan Jez Shaw the Gilberdyke Tiger who sadly died recently at the age of 39 and it was Jez's collection. Lovely touch for which we are only too gratefull and honoured to receive. pm for ticket details. THIS WILL BE A SELL OUT.
A big thank you to Sir Cheshire Ben of this parish for his generous donation. Thank you Ben, it is appreciated.
Al’s a big City fan too (in fact wasn’t it the Gin Festival we were both at when City were away and he was asking me to signal the score to him?)
