11/10/2018 : R.I.P. Sir Doug. With the appointments of Dean Smith and John Terry yesterday, Sir Doug left us knowing that Aston Villa had turned the corner in a positive direction ... much as AVFC did when he first joined the Board in 1968.

07/12/2019 : The sad news today is that our former Manager, Ron Saunders, has died aged 87 yo.

R.I.P. and thanks for the memories too.

"Aston Villa is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Shakespeare as the club’s new Assistant Head Coach." (to Dean Smith).

It would help if AVFC gave the full picture, I had to goto SSN for this :

Shakespeare left Watford, where he was number two to Nigel Pearson, last month before the Hornets were relegated.
He will join John Terry and Richard O'Kelly, who remain assistant head coaches, in the Villa backroom staff.
