Nicknames

The not606 board is full of interesting characters with weird and wacky names but what are the stories behind our nicknames. Obviously, if your nic is 'johnfromLeeds', it probably does'nt need much explaination, unless you want to give one.

I'll start.

In the 27 years I've been following Leeds, we have had our ups and downs (ups and downs) to such a degree that sometimes I sometimes feel we have been to hell-and-back, though I always come back for more. Our great stadium is called Elland Road, and if you merge the two words together you get Ellandback.

I wish there was some sort of interesting origin for my username but there really isn't. I tried to call myself Stevie on 606 but that name had already been taken by someone. I then tried superStevie but it was also taken so eventually i settled on the most ridiculous suggestion put forward by 606. Merrysuperstevie (since shortened to merrysupersteve) was born.

 

My names Ringo(after the crisps not the Beetle geezer) and i'm a Lion....GGGRRRRRR!!!

 

Hello, I’m Itsalongwayback, I’ve been following Leeds United for almost 40 years. My name is self-explanatory really. Originates from when we were in League 1 after our calamitous fall from grace and refers to the promise land that is the Premier League! Maybe I should change it to Itsalittlelessfurtherback!!

mine is almost self explanitory. a Tigers supporter since birth (almost) and when all this internet malarky kicked off in the early 90s I was living in Oregon. and although I moved back to England it kind of stuck.

Someone was typing my name (Rachel) into their phone and there was no predictive text obviously and what he read when he had put my name is was Pagbag. I have been many different variations of that but Pags has stuck and a lot of people call me now.

Beats Satano and Raquelzebub and child of Satan that my mother calls me…

I have been various plays on Pags…such as Paggy dolls after the tv show Raggy Dolls… Paggington Bear after the tv show… Pags and The Wheeled Warriors..again after the TV show (although no-one knows that one really!)

 

So did i Pags, i think he needs to change his name
