    Just one bet today:
    Newbury 1.50pm

    Oldgrangewood 6/1 . Big chance..won race 2 years ago and has some weight in hand on Kalashnikov. I think a plan has been hatched.. mark has dropped and ready to strike.

    Happy with that but more impressed with ole Thistlecrack…!! What now for the one time hurdler who won the KG but came up short in the Gold Cup... I'd keep him over the hurdles after that effort...

    Id be surprised if they took to the jumps as they do seem to have the 3mile hurdle division sewn up, if all goes to plan that is... Still, only 7, so a lot to think about going forward...

    <rofl>

    13/2 e/w in 7 runner race stone last, ive seen some pathetic stuff on here but that tops the lot

    Why on earth would champ have an issue with the trip? won his bumper easily at 2 miles and won a G1 at 2m4 over hurdles, stays 3 miles easily, like most jump horses, effective over a wide range as everything beyond 2 miles is basically just different grades of stayers

    the horses who run in the ryanair dont do so because 2m5 is their trip, they do so because they are too slow for the champion chase and not good enough for the gold cup

    no such thing as a 3 miler, the difference between 2.5 and 3 is negligible, and a top class staying chaser will win easily over 2m4 as Lostintranslation also showed earlier in the season

    stick to southwell son
