So the Duckenfield 2as not guilty.. Bollocks, he ordered one gate opened and did not close another... that directly led to the deaths. He lied about the fans, saying that they were pushing the gate...they did not!
Nope... It is as if the Court agreed with that arse wipe rag the Sun... I knew one young lad who died aged 21... I am still furious that he lost his life, his family have never got over it...Justice has not been served
This is an emotive subject whereby people involved, or connected, are affected and react in a certain way. I have very strong opinions myself, but am always reluctant to post them because of the extreme reactions that they provoke. I won't go into detail, but I believe that some of the Liverpool supporters, along with the police/stadium/stewards/ambulance service/etc, share the blame.
Your right in a nutshell Smug, the Liverpool fans have done an excellent job of deflecting the blame away from themselves all this time and I'm sure they will be totally upset at this verdict. to try and blame two men for what happened is ludicrous but in our blame anybody else but me society I'm not surprised. I was in that stand in 1973 with the Arsenal fans and there was no bother whatsoever. everybody has an opinion and that is mine.
It would be hoped that the families will now accept the lawful verdict and act with dignity. They were given what they always demanded and should respect the law. Any hysterical outcry will lessen the general sympathy they've previously enjoyed imo.
I remember we went there to play Sheff Wed obviously in Oct 1985 the 2-2 draw i went and had no bother getting in, but we got there about 2 hours before kick off, so why where the Liverpool supporters late ?
Oh get ****ed: the Liverpool fans spent nearly 25 years trying undo smears that they'd broken down the gates, urinated on brave coppers trying to save fans (when they'd actually tried to chuck them back into the pens) and several other Sun/SYP concerted disinformation that kicked off the moment after the BBC had disproved their lie that the gates had been forced open (that they thought they'd got away with by destroying the original CCTV tapes). Oh, and they were late because the M62 was being dug up and coach searches, but Duckenfield knew all of this and exactly how and why they were late. Also, Liverpool played there the year before without any problems, but then they had a competent match commander. But, as you say, you're fully entitled to your un-informed, pig-ignorant opinion.
Hahahahaha!!!!! Outside of Merseyside, the only 'sympathy' Liverpool fans have ever 'enjoyed' has been, in England anyway, from Newcastle. The rest of you sucked the Establishment's cock and lapped up every word that Mackenzie and Sun fed you. Dickhead.
My opinions are based entirely on the personal experience of travelling the country, watching football, for over 50 years. In fact, nothing to do with the Sun which I've never read. Nor do I have any affection for the establishment, which I despise, or the police. I, and other Sunderland supporting friends, have had considerable sympathy as would any normal person. Your comments have absolutely no relevance to me I'm afraid.
Dear me, I've seen some pathetic behaviour on football forums but this crackpot @luvgonzo takes first prize .... ... turfed off the Liverpool forum despite the disgraceful behaviour of his little pal on here https://www.not606.com/threads/and-within-minutes-of-the-verdict.379497/#post-13365952
It's this typically pathetic behaviour that makes people question Liverpool supporters. They do more harm than good, for their cause, in my opinion. They claim that this subject is 'sub-judice' to prevent it being discussed which is absolute nonsense trotted out by a bunch of amateur defence solicitors. Whatever the facts of this case it would be the only FA Cup semi-final in the history of the game, where supporters didn't turn up drunk, late, rowdy or ticket less. It's the insistence that, at this match, it didn't happen that weakens the argument. On another point I have to say how annoying I find it when it's said that 'no one should go to a football match and not return home'. Of course not but people die in all kinds of circumstances whether they leave home or not, it's a daily risk I'm afraid.
Agreed. At the end of the day it was a tragic accident with numerous factors that may or may not have contributed to it. Police, Fans, Cages, Alcohol. With all those factors in play it would be almost impossible for a jury to find one single person responsible imho.
I'd like anyone to explain something to me if they can. The claim is that the gates were opened, the Liverpool supporters surged through the tunnel, down the walkway and crushed those against the fence. That didn't happen did it? The victims were crushed all along the front of that pen so it wasn't a sudden influx through the tunnel at all. What happened was that those coming into that pen pushed their way along the terraces, gave a little nudge and sent those in front down a step or two. As that process continued those at the front of the terraces, not just the walkway, gradually came under more and more relentless pressure until they became exhausted and suffocated. You can clearly see it happening if you watch the video of that day. Those sidestepping their way along a packed terrace, nudging those in front down the terrace and claiming their place are every bit as guilty as anyone else
"When the gates were opened, thousands of fans entered a narrow tunnel leading from the rear of the terrace into two overcrowded central pens (pens 3 and 4), creating pressure at the front. Hundreds of people were pressed against one another and the fencing by the weight of the crowd behind them.[37] People entering were unaware of the problems at the fence; police or stewards usually stood at the entrance to the tunnel and, when the central pens reached capacity, directed fans to the side pens, but on this occasion, for reasons not fully explained, they did not.[38] A BBC TV news report conjectured that if police had positioned two police horses correctly, they would have acted as breakwaters directing many fans into side pens, but on this occasion, it was not done. " With citations. That took three minutes to find. Had you REALLY wanted to know, you'd have found that out rather than dwelled on your own prejudices.
