Doesn't help when the linesman forgets about the offside law

I've seen us play a lot worse this season......Gifting them at least 2 goals, mistakes by Brownhill & Bentley for me was the biggest disappointment.....Never thought we would get much from that game..

    Bad result.
I only saw a few minutes of the second half and I thought we actually looked ok - just before we scored.
I then had to take the old man to the GWH so missed the capitulation.
Still 7th though so no panic just yet - we aren’t the only team to lose to WBA.

They were much better than us throughout, the first two goals were both down to our errors but were very clinically taken, despite being out played we got back to 2-1 with around 10 mins to go, briefly it looked like we may give them a torrid last 10 mins , however we again made a terrible error which they again converted and affectively Killed the game, but the goal was around 1 yard offside , the fourth was offside also. With a bit of luck at the end things could have been very different. On balance though they were much better than us and deserved the win.

Why did no one bother tracking the West Brom forward for their 4th, everyone stopped ?
The 1st half was simply embarrassing. A mistake ridden display which just emphasised how big the gulf between us and the likes of WBA is.

it is now becoming apparent that our lack of goals will cost us dearly … we have a cf in Fammy who goes off to Africa and scores a few plays in more tiring atmosphere [ heat ] and pops a few away, OK you can say not high quality opposition but it is at international level!
We took a punt on a few of our academy players before and it paid off but we [seem to do well from them] also elevate them for a while then knock them back for a few years going out on loan. We've had players that score for fun in the unders, and sometimes for loan teams … so what suddenly happens to them, it cant all be down to they just aint good enough . mc coulsky is one point in question …
Teams throughout the Prem/Champs and divi 1 do seem to field quite a few teenagers .. we spend £8m on 1 and now he doesn't get game time! Weimann has his place as does Fammy but we don't seem to start with a "forceful attacking line up" but hopefully keep it in reserve for later in the game!!!
last night we started with just 4 defenders on the sheet? [ none in subs ] finished up the whole of the second half as 3-5-2? ...against a team like WBA?
Saturday we should start as we finished …… ! with 2 defenders on the bench …. ELIASON should be a starter

    LJ's Apology ~

I apologise' - Lee Johnson takes responsibility for Bristol City humbling by West Brom

Head coach says he got things wrong.

It's only the third defeat of the season but Bristol City's 4-1 loss was dispiriting in manner for the fans and players.

Head coach Lee Johnson accepted the responsibility for the result after the game and has pledged to lift the players for the visit of Huddersfield on Saturday.

The City boss explained that his squad were not to blame for the manner of the reversal that see the Baggies go top of the league and the Robins remain in seventh.

Johnson offered his apologies to the fans.

"Disappointed is an understatement. we came here with ambition," he said in the post-match press conference.

"And we didn't start. We were shy on the second ball and we weren't aggressive enough. One thing you have to do at places like this is earn the right to play.

"I take full responsibility - it's my team and my identity. And we didn't do enough today individually or as a team. Or as a staff.

"I apologise to the fans. They deserve that. They've been fantastic particularly away from home.

"I don't think it was lack of effort from the boys today, we were just found wanting in too many areas albeit against a good side.

"All credit should go to West Brom but we look at it from our point of view where we're hurting after a loss and we have to reflect. The result is that we've lost three points and we've taken a bit of a pride bashing. But it's not final and it's not fatal - I fully believe in the players moving forward but they've got to show more in those top six games.

"In one sense, I thought that West Brom looked like a Premier league outfit. That was a good test for us. We should stand up to that better than we did today. If we we want to go where we want to go then the players need to demand more from each other," he said.

On the game, the head coach explained that he felt that the Robins performed for just 10 minutes of the game - straight after half-time.

Johnson also pointed out that the officials got the rules wrong regarding how far the wall has to go back - whether a meter or a yard.

"I take full responsibility - it's on me," reitterated Johnson as we asked if he would have changed his team selection and tactics in hindsight.

"I have to remove it from the players. I'm always honest in my post-match reflections. I said I accept responsibility.

"The bigger question is that the likes of Eliasson have got the right to knock on my door and demand to play. Previously it was one in 16 losses, now Eliasson for example should be asking me for a start tomorrow morning" said Johnson, who explained that Callum O'Dowda suffered a dead leg in the game.

Bailey Wright, Palmer and Nagy were awful.
As for our negative set up well, make your own mind up.
First 10 minutes 2nd half was decent, stupid Williams challenge and handbags after totally took any momentum away.
They took the piss after. Yes 2 goals were offside but that shouldn't deflect the fact they were miles better.
Junior thinks what's the best system to play against WBA and comes up with a back 3. Then picks players to fit the system.
    He's wrong.
He should pick his best players and then fit a system to suit.
Picking the useless Bailey Wright is/was ridiculous.
You lot watch Palmer and you've raved about Nagy, well for me they ain't pulling up any trees.
City will probably win this weekend against lowly Huddersfield. However and ultimately they're treading water in a league this year where ordinary sides fill most positions.

He looks completely lost for words.

Afobe getting injured was a frigging disaster not LJs fault a hasten to add.

Completely changed the way the team play without him.

Palmer don't look half the player now to when he had Afobe up top.Think he plays on a different wave length.

Mmmm I quite like Palmer.. I think with more game time he will become a very good player....needs some decent players around him to allow for a bit of freedom.....Does make a few mistakes, but he will learn..
Giving the ball away so easily cost us I feel..

Fair enough, I'll cut him some slack.
You watch a lot more than I do and respect your opinion.
I just worry a bit as Palmer's had a few chances with loans and no club wanted to sign him.

Palmer thinks he's better than he is. He tries fancy moves and loses the ball too often. He disappears against physical teams. While he does have an eye for a pass I don't think he fits too well with the rest of our team who are mostly hard workers rather than flair players. Imo he was a waste of money.
