Agree with both of those re effort, but ffs how the **** did he put that ball into the six yard box, two players to cut it out. These are the worst set of players I’ve ever watched, they’ve no pace, no heart and worse than all of that no pride in our shirt, ****ing disgrace.

  4. Some were booing, not a majority by any means. Even that would have been stemmed if the players had shown the slightest inclination to fight....but there was no sign. Agree with the comments on O9,Hume and Grigg....what a thankless task he has....on his own,no support,no service,...wonder how many miles he covered chasing around.Benji should have been brought on earlier, before we went behind in an attempt to put them under pressure and win the game, but, that seems to be outside the thinking box! Can't find one reason for any optimism at the minute.

McLaughlin makes Donald Love look half decent.
Its time to bring Mumba back into the first team and play him in his new role for the U23s at Right back.

We haven't had a captain for two seasons and it shows.

We have owners who fade in and out at random and a cliché ridden manager.

The supporters are drifting and that would be fatal.

Every organisation needs clear leadership and we have very little in all honesty.

    Blame the managers.
    Especially the last one

  9. Spot on Riv. Too many nice lads in the dressing room, not enough nasty aggression to shake them up. They need to be more scared of the dressing room than the fans!

I'm sick of the O'Nien love in.

He's not very good is he, lets be honest?

He runs yes and he's got a decent personality but he's an average L1 player.

Not one leader in the whole club.

Who's facing this up? Who's fighting? Who's grabbing things by the scuff of the neck?

Answer: not one of them, from owner to players to manager.

Covers loads of ground, never gives up, has assists and goals this season and is very good in the air. Yes he's a L1 player but I'd say he is one of the better ones quite comfortably

If we had 11 players with his attitude and application we'd likely be top of the league

I get that mate I really do but would 11 average L1 players really have us top of the league?

This season he's scored 3 and assisted 2 in 15 starts. Granted he's played at RB quote a bit but he won't get us promoted.

Totally agree. We were discussing this last night at the game and there wasn’t one player Showing leadership or trying to motivate any one around them . It was like watching 11 strangers. Mind 11 strangers would probably have played better.

Effort wins this league. Ability helps a little but having a little ability with a lot of effort works better than having a lot of ability with little effort.

As I said, last night, O'Nien, Grigg and Hume were probably our 3 hardest workers. O'Nien is very good in the air - rarely gets beaten. Grigg is a little too static to hit with a long ball for me - yet the keeper kicked for Grigg every time. Had he kicked for O'Nien then the chances are we'd have had more success (that said, had we tried to play football we'd likely have had more success)

I get that O'Nien is a L1 player - I do think he'd be OK at a lower championship level as well tbh. His effort and endeavour alone are more than you see from a lot of our players. If all of our players gave what O'Nien does and left everything on the pitch, we'd probably be doing much better than we are. Some of them simply don't seem to give a ****. I put Grigg in that too regardless of my thoughts from last night's game. He doesn't look "bothered" ever!

If Quinny or Phillips were playing and the ball wasn't passed to them very well constantly, they'd go off it at the passer. He doesn't. I used to play RB and I'd go off it at players for rubbish passes or for trying the same thing over and over which hadn't worked the previous 20 times. Grigg just gets on with it.

Effort and a bit of quality (Championship level).

Look at the players at the top of the scoring chart and assists chart, they all have more than just effort.

Running around doesn't win you leagues or get you promoted. Winning games does.

Yep - winning games - can you win games without effort? If you put zero effort in but have the quality of Messi or Ronaldo do you win games?

Absolutely not. You need effort to win games. Without it you get nowhere - ever.

I rarely saw him give the ball away last night - iirc the only time he didn't find SAFC players was when trying to put crosses in when we literally had one man (Grigg) in the box who is surrounded by 4 defenders (not a dig a Grigg btw, simply at our static slow midfield)!

Not sure what you want him to do or if you'd rather he did nowt and played 2 killer passes for chances which got missed.

I'd rather have 11 people leaving everything on the pitch like he does than 11 who are as good as top championship players but can't be arsed to put it in

I said you need more than just effort to get promoted if you read it back.

Nothing to do with winning without it or whatever.

He's just caught up as part of a bigger problem which is in my opinion the other players and the piss poor tactics.

Clearly we have differing views on him. For me, good lad like I've said, but don't understand the hype.

And I suppose you'll be blaming him for the cutlery shortage in the stadiums staff canteen?
