Strange that our vegan chums would be happy for animal species to die out but as most of them are complete mentalists we shouldn't be that surprised.

I knew a fat vegan, no meat or dairy etc but he scoffed copious amounts of nuts instead. True story.

I can understand for things like water and trains as we can't live without h2U and trains to take workers to work and are stupidly overpriced and only accountable to share holders.

In most successful civilised countries the subway and rail costs are very low and ran without profit as an essential service .

£565 a week to get from Norwich to London is ****ing mental .

The State nationalised all the railways then decided to git rid of 1/3 of it in the 60s.

Glasgow had some of the best public transport in the UK and the State decided to bulldoze a 6-12 lane motorway through the heart of the city, get rid of the trams, knock down all the slums and rehouse 600,000 people in newer slums on the outskirts of the city.

**** the State is what I say.

You don't like travelling to London to work then get another job or move to a city which is more affordable.

Once you privatise things like rail travel you can't really buy it back without some other group of rich ****s getting a massive chunk of public money.

Corbyn is probably thinking about the Venezuela model where they seize companies and private property and run them into the ground at even more expense to the mug tax payers.

Plus anyone worth any money will just leave the country .

The state still pays billions of pounds per year towards our "privatised" railways ya mug.

Rubbish. The rail network is owned by the state. Rail companies are contracted to operate on it. Cancel the contracts or don't renew them. Simple as that. The operators have fùcked most of it up anyway. Are the trains any better now than they were before privatisation? They are certainly more expensive.

And? Are the railways better than before privatisation?

    Statistically, yes they are.

Could the State do a better job than some of the franchises? Possibly, yes they could but the state would invariably fk it up because that's what they do.

Is the renationalising of the railways going to be worth it, no idea how much it would cost but I'm assuming it'll be billions?

So private profit making companies fùcking up- good

State run not for profit fùcking up- bad

At least state fùck ups would probably be less expensive for Si Bloggs.

Didn't say any of that but you bash away ya purple faced zealot.

The State nationalised the railways, shrunk it by 33%, ran it poorly for 40 years, privatised it, major improvements all round but comes at a cost to commuters/customers.

If the answer is the State, do you think the fares will go down because they wont.

I'm £2.50 return into the toon and me and Julie got the train to London last year using friends and family discount and it was £80 return or thereabouts - all good.

I sympathise with commuters but high fares are hear to stay - that's life.

    Major improvements! Really!

The railway system in this country is a shambles. It one of the worst in the developed world. Antiquated rolling stock using antiquated lines.

Aye but it's all good in the hood because Julie gets a wee table to rest her baby sham on when you go a jaunt into the toon.

Yeah major improvements. Delays are down, trains are better, no major crashes in decades (from what I can remember).

I get the brand new rolling stock so not sure about elsewhere. Sometimes get the train to Hampden, suppose that could do with being upgraded but having spent time on trains in NYC, Spain, France, Italy and Poland, I can safely say our trains were better than theirs.

Train into town is 5 mins, no time for babysham I'm afraid.

I'm talking from personal experience, our trains are great compared to the others in Europe and USA, dare say China and Japan ****s all over us but at least we have round eyes slits.

Corbyn last night being interviewed by Neil was embarrassing...

Failed to understand the impact of higher tax rates on those who contribute 50% of income tax and those who contribute 12%.

That was one of many embarrassing moments.
