I know it's still early days, but tonight's game could be pivotal to our season.

We've been sitting pretty comfortably top/2nd all season, but after tonights game, could find ourselves 8 points behind top, with the chasing pack getting closer and closer.

The international break hoodoo still continues (we all know how crazy it was to rest our strongest 11 for 18 days).

Hopefully both Norwood and KVY are back, and if they are, i'm confident we'll get a win. If both are out, moreso Norwood, i don't have too much confidence in our forward line scoring too many tonight.

I will go for a scrappy, and nervous 2-1 victory, with Garbutt scoring another trademark freekick, with Judge also having his scoring boots on.

I won't be happy with a draw - we need to be winning these games. I know Wycombe are top, but i've seen them a couple of times live on TV, and i have to say, they are nothing special, and i'm pretty surprised to be seeing them so high up. From what i've seen, doubt if they'll stay in the top 6

We need to win this one, we must turn up & that's in the 1st half too!

If our strongest, fittest team is out, then I go for a hard fought, entertaining 2-1 too.

Wanderers and Bill Turnbull (huge respect Sir!) are one a roll & very confident.

    Wont be easy!

3-5-2 formation tonight. KVY & Downes both out but I’m not a fan of changing goalkeepers. Have a number 1 and stick with him = better understanding with the defence

Whilst I do think Lambert hasn't had a great deal of choice in terms of squad rotation because actually if fit he picks a fairly consistent team, I don't like changing goalkeepers all the time either

Norton another self-inflicted moment of madness, these yellows might come back to haunt us last 10 mins.

Evening gents. Abysmal anti-display of footballship from both sides this evening.

Sounds like a sparkling 1st half, and flat 2nd.

Cant complain at being top 2 at this stage.

Seen KVY out for months. Our squad really isn't very durable. Think given the injuries, and lack of experience this squad has had its pretty good where we are at the moment.

Need to strengthen in January, at least 1 Striker and a CB. Chambers is becoming very rash in his old age.

Appalling, incompetent, inconsistent display, but that's enough of the referee, a good entertaining game I thought given that skills in this division are in short supply generally, Town dominated against the top team who are a team of time wasting, solid in defence, and basic skill level players.
The old problems are still there for us in we don't score enough goals even when we dominate, very few chances created, and very little quality ball reaching the front players, and too much time taken getting the ball into the box.
I've slated Donacien in the past but tonight and Saturday he played very well, Huws was disappointing but in the main the defence was good, the midfield was lacking in creativity but worked hard helping the defence and getting forward it's just the final ball takes forever to get into forwards who by that time are heavily marked.

Wouldn’t disagree too much with anything there. Wycombe are a terrible side defence excepted. We did dominate the first half but the opposition didn’t turn up. There were a few good passages but Town never really got a flow going.

For the pen, Chambers had no idea the forward was even there until it was too late.

Against another side at this level one or two balls would have found themselves through to Jackson or Norwood for a one on one. But for me this game showed us how far we really have to go to be more than a decent League One side.

That's kinda what I've been saying and why I questioned whether we would get another win before Xmas. I bloody hope we do but what I have seen so far, doesn't fill me with confidence and I'm just glad we are in this division atm, had we been in the championship.....I think we would be bottom three.
Personally I think the link up play between the midfield and strikers is just not good enough and too slow. I don't rate any of our strikers either to be brutally honest but they seem just about ok at this level, do think we need new blood up front though and the midfield needs to be taught to attack with more pace!
Happy with 2nd in league but think we are lucky this division is sooo poor!

Apparently 'our goal' did go in off one of their defenders, therefore own goal!
