The OP looks like he has found a new target to have a go at. He must be bored of slating Jack Ross so has turned his attention to the board now. Does anybody know the guy? Surely he's a mag? I'm struggling to believe a Sunderland supporter would go on like this.
I was thinking yesterday the same thing tbh. Even the bigger players will rarely have played in front of such a big crowd that turns venomous at the drop of a hat. Like on a basic psychological level, how many of them actually like our fans do you think? I reckon o'Nien maybe? The rest probably live in fear it's not an excuse, just really obvious. On a side note, two little ****s in the east stand probably no older than 10, screamed abuse at our players for 90mins yesterday. The next generation of our fans are probably going to be conditioned to hate the players and the cycle will continue.
Hatred and abuse are being bred into a generation where it has no consequences. The old pit village culture of anyone being allowed to give the local kids a clip may now seem archaic but I look back on it fondly tbh. We were wary of our elders because justice was immediate and hurt ... ... but I don't remember holding grudges against the clouter.
Yeah they needed a clip. Spent the last part of the match hoying **** over the back of the stand and screaming 'Haway ya fat ****!' at Grigg.
The reality is that the expectations of our club/fanbase is bigger than anything outside of about 10 clubs in the country. With that comes pressure. It was pressure that players felt in the Premier League and in the championship as well. The problem now is that the lower down the league's you get, the less likely you are to find players with experience of handling that kind of pressure. It is new territory to them and outside of their comfort zone. Many of our fans understand this and are brilliant in their support. Unfortunately, there is a vocal minority who prefer to criticise. They judge players by the expectation of where they feel the club should be, rather than the ability and effort of the actual player.
Supporting a football team is like making love to a beautiful woman ... .... in many ways. If you put in the time, effort and passion you expect the same in return which encourages you more. If you don't get it you quickly become despondent. But you sometimes have to accept your enthusiasm may put pressure on your partner. It's a delicate balance!
But underlines how it's a two way relationship. I'm sick to death of some of our so called fans saying they need to perform before they'll get their support or the old adage "they never came to see me when I was ill"
The supporters will be there long after the current owners, manager and players have gone. If people only 'support' the club when the circumstances suit them it's not actual support imo.
So does it confirm what we know about a few of our players that they are F*****g crap or are they are just crap at F*****g who knows ? Or both ?
a couple of mags wins and your the first to dip his toe in to see the reaction with these immortal words,,,LIKE... like what
Sad that despite what an easy target we are he can only raise the confidence to attempt a pisstake after they've managed a couple of wins. Feeble as ****.
typical mag comes on here and then off like a shot, spouting on the warm glow thread ower the road how brave they are
