Right, ****ing listen up, you lot, 'cos this is complicated. And, to be honest, it's also very, very dull. Me Da' was big mates with Dave Stead's Grandad and years after Quench was released, Grandad gave my Dad a load of album tee-shirts that Dave had passed on to him, that no one had been able to shift. Me Da' wrapped them up and give them to all me kids as Christmas presents. In lieu of buying them actual, real presents. The right ****. Anyway, two problems. Me bairns were all about 10 at the time, and into Busted and McFly and Susan Boyle or whoever. And two, the said Tee-shirts where all XXL. (But what the Hell). That's a little Beautiful South joke there, for those of you who might appreciate it. Anyway. I decided that the best thing to do was to take the oversized, inappropriate gifts off the sad, disappointed Grandbairns, and replace them with Amazon vouchers (at my own ****ing expense), rather than having the three adoring youngsters thinking that their much loved Grandad was a tight-fisted, old Scrooge ****. Postscript: And what happened to the over-sized Tee-shirts, I hear you ask? They are still on the go, nigh on twenty years later, as night-time wear for myself. No way am I spunking my hard-earned on pyjamas. I told you this was a dull story.
This above track is in my top 3 tracks ever...brilliant band. Intimate connection with Cream... The Woodstock connection is embossed in my memory...
Well, no. Closest I came was seeing Mountain at Leeds Student Union in Feb '72 and Bruce, West & Laing at same venue in April '73 on my first trip back after emigrating here. That was before Leslie lost his leg, so I didn't manage to sign his stump
Yes, but from about 1990 when they ( Leslie West & Corky Laing as Mountain) toured with Ritchie Scarlet playing bass. I have a signed poster as well. Saw Leslie West in The old Picturehouse in Beverley (cant remember whether touring on his own or Mountain) as well
