In response to the thread title "no, not yet".

Let's see what he does, who he brings in by end Feb and how he moulds the team by Easter. but if he keeps making bad decisions on squad and formation I fear for the bloke.

After the Lord Mayor's Show some poor ****er has to clean up all the horseshit and Parky got the short straw.

He was spot on last night. We need strong players with aerial threat and pace, not tubby midgets with an attitude problem.

He's identified one problem straight away and brought in a fitness coach which is more than Jack bothered himself with.

I say give him a chance before it gets even more farcical.

I've just hoyed this up on RTG so thought I'd share it here as it was in reply to Grumpy Old Man made about Shrewsbury and us winning 9 times out of 10 normally.

    ************ Thor'd ************

Against Shrewsbury we didn't convert the chances as we had plenty but the goal was as small as a 5 aside goal given the amount actually on target! The graph at the top shows which team had play during that time and normally like you say we'd have won that game. Apologies if images are big on a phone.

A few of the chances are shown here.

Shrewsbury were no easy pushover as they played Wycombe the week after and dominated the stats in a same way we did against them but also couldn't find the net. That defeat is currently their only loss in their last 10 games, 6 being in league.

We've had 1 game in the league since Shrewsbury against Southend but it was the same old story, we couldn't convert!

The 4 cup games since Southend need to be forgotten about given the chopping and changing of the team as now it's league games all the way to the end of season. One positive for me is that we've created over 60 chances in the least 4 league games away to Wycombe/Shrewsbury and home to Tranmere/Southend with Parkinson in charge, so over 15 per game. The problem is, getting them on target sometimes isn't great and then our conversion rate is poor when we do. It's all meaningless stats to the final score but at least it's better than creating nowt at all and not dominating games! If improve our conversion rate then at least we'll be creating enough chances to increase how any we score.

We're also missing a 1 goal in at most 3 apps striker as Grigg needs to gets some goals these next 2 games. His 1 in 15 return this season is ****ing shocking and if not that's it, play someone else even if it's a kid if McNulty isn't fit! If we had a 1 in 3 striker like most teams at the top then we'd have some extra goals and as Maja showed last season, these are goals that often help towards getting points from a game. Now we're out of the cups, the big test comes tomorrow and Tuesday and 2 good wins would change the mood of the players dramatically!

I got the stats from here

You can also look at the match center here for more stats/chalkboard/heatmaps etc here also so I won't bore you even more but it's not as bad as some like to make out or being distracted by the meaningless cup games and writing the season off already! <laugh><laugh>

Good to know for what it's worth. A couple of fully functioning strikers and an attacking midfielder could save the season.

Grigg is baffling, surely it's not that hard to put the ball in the net

Ross had a very good side last season. People seem to be wiping that from history and starting a clean slate from this one in his defence.

I said 15 matches, but who would replace him ?. i see Barry fry is saying he wants at least £2.5m for maddison in january IF they Peterboro decide to sell him in the first place. Just think we could have had Toney i reckon for £5m if Grigg had not been signed hastely, but Maddison would be realistic. if i win the euros i am going to buy Toney/Maddison if that is legal through SAFC and pay them £30 - 40,000 a week each or £20,000 a goal.

I'm pretty disillusioned with the whole thing at the minute and it's annoying that, after some initial positive signs, we now don't seem to look any better under Parkinson than we were under Ross (and are arguably looking worse). That being said I think it would look incredibly amateurish if we bring a new bloke in and even contemplate sacking him because his first few games didn't go to plan. He's not even the type you would expect to come in and make a huge immediate impact.

I think we have to persevere with him, support him properly in January and get the pace and power that we've needed ever since dropping into this bloody league. He's been around this league long enough to know what it takes to get promoted and what we're missing. I'm not going to say I'm confident he'll get it right given time, but I think the issues are well above the manager. Plus there's the issue that if we kick him out after 2 months I can't imagine many serious managers wanting to come in, most would see it as a sign of major instability and we'd likely be hunting in a pool of people worse than we've got now

We played well that night. But 2 wins in 10 suggests it was a fluke. He wont se the season out

I trust him to know more about decent L! players than Coton and Hill - that's about as far as it goes. Whether he has the backbone to make sure he gets them in is another matter.

Same old crap now, players split into sections, fans worried and the good buzz long gone. PP is on a hiding to nothing with our midfield as it stands, January is a bloody long way off and we need a full midfield plus pacey striker imo. Need a bit of a early Christmas miracle to save our season atm.
