If I do another opening post about Kim Bailey the impression might be created that I’m getting obsessed with him but let me assure the regular readers I am not…honest.

Just thought it necessary as tomorrow at Ascot he’s going for a first and last race double with full brothers. Prince Llewelyn (12.20) and Lord Apparelli (3.50). Has this ever been achieved before in Royal Berkshire…or indeed anywhere?!? I don’t know but I’ve got to say ‘good luck’ to him for trying.

Whether he will be successful though is another matter…

There are 3 running tomorrow that I would expect to all go very close. LIGHTLY SQUEEZE at Huntingdon (1.05). And at Ascot PYM (12.55) and old boy THE LAST DAY (3.20).

Huntingdon put up some very nice prizemoney for a 0-125 Lady Riders Heat and I take Lightly Squeeze, a dual winner on the level, to oblige for Harry Fry (that’s the trainer, incidentally, not the lady jockey). A most promising 2nd on his seasonal bow, over timber last time, and a mark of 112 here looks highly exploitable.

One that I’ve spoken about a lot over the terms is Pym and it’s a big day in his career tomorrow at Ascot as it’s his first try at 3 miles and you really do feel that he needs to deliver a strong performance. He was a dual winner over hurdles (and Grade 2 placed) and on his first run over the big ‘uns, earlier in the month, he put up a solid effort to finish 2nd at Huntingdon. With that experience behind him I would expect to Pym to come on a lot and don’t forget in the interim he would also have had the huge advantage of the deployment of Lieutenant Henderson’s ‘magic hands’ and brilliant brain. I think Pym will in time
go onto be better than his current mark of 137 and expect a very bold show.

Also in Royal Berkshire I think The Last Day will win the richest heat on that card. Won as easily as you like at Aintree, last time, and despite an 11 lbs hike in the weights I think will oblige again. Looked potentially top notch that day and can win this off 142. Meanwhile, I also believe that his task is made easier by the fact that many of his rivals look very exposed or are handicapped to the bally hilt.

    Have a great weekend people.

Off to Haydock again, think its my 6th or 7th Betfair from the past 10 or 12 years. Shame the big race has cut up for numbers but if you look back it never has had a big field... Amyway, BDM will be tough to beat regardless of the numbers, and i collected on him last year at good odds... The 6/4 on offer now might look good tom afty but its not for me so will probably just watch the race unfold...

Any thoughts, or picks from the forum will be greatly appreciated as i begin tonights homework trying to choose a winner or non...:emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0138-think:emoticon-0138-think

well you’ve got Sticks cliff horse in Acey Milan, you’ve got Ami Desbois who could lead them a merry dance early on the card and I really like old boy Perfect Candidate who looks primed for another big run

In the race before the Betfair, I quite fancy Lisnager Oscar. Reverting back to hurdles now, a grade 2 winner last season and he was doing his best of the prominent runners behind Champ and Emitom in the Doom Bar at Aintree. I would be backing him each way.

No other strong opinions on the other races except the Betfair. I see Bristol De Mai winning, and think that the rain that has arrived will help.

    Have a good day...:emoticon-0105-wink:

Just to make things more complicated and pick another horse in the 2.25- TEDHAM looks a worthy and solid favourite first go at 3m and will look to improve for it aswell as his come back run.

I’m going to Aintree in a couple of weeks, so I could do with boosting the war chest. My arrows for today in a 4 fold.
    1.15 Haydock Jarveys Plate
    2.05 Ascot Altior
2.40 Ascot If The Cap Fits
    3.00 Haydock Lostintranslation
Also I really fancy Leicester to beat Brighton with both teams to score at 11/4.
Have a good weekend fellas :emoticon-0148-yes::emoticon-0167-beer:
