This whole farce stinks from start to whenever we may finish...I understand why Mogg stated that the country wont see any benefits for up to half a century. Accusations of bribery, fake news, blatant lies, potential corruption, threats, death threats, murder, outside interference, biased media, etc etc and people think democracy exists!:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss. The hypocrisy is tragic. Tragic for our country. There should be a candidate from every party representing each constituency. No deals of removing candidates to influence a remain or leave seat. It all ****ing stinks!

Good man Corbyn, Borisov would have smiled and let it go, having called a Russian based journalist up first. But why would anyone jeer Laura Kuensberg?

The problem with that is, if the Polls are about correct now and voters don't do a lot of tactical voting which will be almost impossible in Contituencies where Labour and LibDem look to have a similar % of support in a seat, say 30% each with Tory 40%; the failure of especially Labour and LibDem to make a deal on a soft Brexit/no Brexit policy is likely to give a majority of MP's in Parliament to the Tories and Leave.

Thank you Woody. :emoticon-0148-yes: (Im glad you and others noticed it). As I said I can be a muppet at times but I felt that the ganging up and insults were getting out of hand. I was finding that every time I posted the usual suspects trolled my posts and as a group would mock me and the posts, almost bullying. I decided to put 2 on ignore which I believe will help the thread (from my point of view) as there will be less childish insults.
I normally use this thread when Rangers aren’t playing as the board can be a bit quiet. But it got so bad with the insults and mocking that I now just post memes and articles and don’t bother to reply with much... maybe a one liner.
I think after the 13th this thread will be quiet anyway and I will be back to the football threads, which is why we are here or should be.

Caught this last night. Try to avoid QT at all costs normally, but made an exception given the coming election. Was a real cringe moment but I thought the reaction from this chap and others in the audience was really interesting.

A lot of people seemed to feel that earning over £80k doesn't make you 'rich' in the UK in 2019. Of course, the reality is that being 'rich' is a highly relative judgement. Compared to very many people (particularly in the rest of the world) someone on £80k or just above might be very rich, but a sole earner on £80k with dependents living in the south-east might not have loads left at the end of the month after tax, rent/mortgage and childcare [worse still if you need to support older relatives etc]. This is of course aggravated by a comparison to a dual income household with two people earning c.£50k who will be paying significantly less tax and won't be affected by future changes, despite the household incoming being higher. Another audience member made the interesting distinction between 'wealth' and earned income.

Now I'm sure many of you will tell me that £80k p.a. is a lot of money whichever way one looks at it, and you're right of course. But tactically I wonder if Labour made a mistake in going for such a 'low' figures, especially as we all know the rhetoric of a campaign never matches the reality of government anyway. I feel like (without going back and looking) in 2017 they spoke much more about wealth taxes than income taxes, which are naturally more popular.

PS - I also thought it was fascinating that there was an assumption that all doctors and lawyers earn over £80k, and a simple refusal to accept that Burgon took home half of that as a solicitor. Perception vs reality is interesting at times! A very close friend who is a doctor (senior registrar grade) is on half of that. So much depends on specialty, location etc. I wonder if there is a good case for considering the type of pay transparency they have in Norway:

I don’t fear it because whatever is in it I cannot change, that’s not being naive it’s being pragmatic, secondly I’m not being ignorant towards my country, I support my country but I will not be swayed in my support because somebody says the people in charge are crooked, bent or corrupt without showing me the evidence in black and white, and if and when that evidence comes to light I will re assess my support and act accordingly, but even then I doubt if I could be swayed to support a lunatic left wing Trotskyite like comrade Jezzbollah and his bunch of champagne socialist halfwits.

I applaud your stance then Turkish. This has to be published so we can all make that decision. We cant possibly be asked to vote in an election with this hanging over us! It's not right. I'm in a very similar boat to be fair. If it showed labour and corbyn were dealing with the Russians then I would definately change my vote, I could never ever vote for the tories, think i would go green or independent.

Maybe if you weren't so hypocritical you wouldn't have had such a backlash. It's a two way street, you are happy to refer to us as remoaners, losers and fanatics whilst posting unsubstantiated nonsense so it is a bit of a reap what you sow scenario. That said we should all try and refrain from genuine abuse. Not buying the bullying line though.

oh so it is my fault? I'm sorry Frome but if you want to go back a few pages you will see a decently worded post by me only to be followed by a post calling me 'Eelers', a 'liar', a 'WUM' and a dig about my education and that I'm talking blah blah? That's okay in your books is it? A mature adult can post that and that's okay in your books? You show me one post where I have been that nasty... You won't find one. You cannot compare me referring to people as 'remoaners' to the abuse I have received.
It is also funny that you yourself have described my posts as 'unsubstantiated nonsense'. Obviously you haven't read many of my posts? A good example was when I posted about that young journo following allegations about Corbyn, only for me to receive the usual responses from the 'usual suspects' . It was a shame because if they have made themselves look stupid because if they had read the post they would have realised that Corbyn did not organise an internal investigation, which he then claimed in the Boris debate, only then to get called a lair.
As for the ganging up... it is a form of bullying. I know enough about how people bully on line and if you want me to give you examples I am more than happy to dig out the posts and show you... however I get the feeling it would be a pointless exercise on here. So the best thing for me to do was to put on ignore which means I don't need to read their posts. For me, that is the best way to go....stop feeding them.
    One other thing
I put 'Wills' on ignore because he was following me around like some lost sheep. I noticed a similarty in one of his posts...something that bugged me. He never posted on the footy threads which is weird. When I confronted him about it he went all 'sheepish' (pun intended). I asked him again and he put me on ignore, which I found strange. I know why now.... because 'Wills' used to be 'West London Willy'. Funnily I put that fool on ignore for the same trolling reason. He reinvents himself and comes back to troll me again on the politics thread. Sad really.
Sometimes people on here need to take their blinkers off and actually see whats happening.

Just took you off ignore today, thought I was going ott, only to find you telling more lies Eelers, you didn't put me on ignore it was the other way round, so I'll wait for an apology for you lying over that one. Ok lets bring a mod in to clarify if I'm a sock or an previous poster, they should be able to do so I know Brb does it on the prem board, again I will wait for your apology on that when it's found my only previous name on here is not someone you conversed with much if at all, and not West London Willy, as I mentioned previously I met nines at the England v Netherlands game after winning the tickets on here!! Frome is spot on about you, isn't it weird how people on this thread will have respectful conversations with people of differing opinions, I did with Goldie only the other day, the one common denominator when it breaks down is you and you alone

I wouldnt even bother mate. Cry me a ****ing river, bullying, abuse oh deary me. I scrutinise his posts just as he does mine. I generally do ask for any snippets of evidence to back up some of his nonsense or I might ask him a question about it. That's when the abuse comes. He cant take it dont ****ing give it. I also debate with Goldy who I respect. I also respect Turkish despite our obvious difference of opinions. They usually come back with some great answers which either leave me stumped or shut me up! Eelers I have zero respect for. Hes just a liar and a WUM.

As I said previously, my behaviour didn’t put me in a good light.....that I’ll admit. For this reason I’ve come off the thread for a day or so to reflect a bit.
It’s a bit rich really though that one poster who can call people ‘muppets’, infer others are ‘anti-semites’, mock them and call them ‘boring’ just ‘cos they don’t like what’s said, as well as resorting to childish slurs of people’s jobs etc....he suddenly plays the ‘victim card’ and says he felt bullied.

I’ve been able to debate with respect to most on here, people who I don’t agree with (like Goldie and Turkish) without resorting to childish insults....unfortunately I fell in to a trap set up so someone can feel the victim.......it won’t happen again.
