He literally just named a stadium after him.

    No.

Soton, SAFC, Boro haven't had a sniff of success for years. New Stadium or new planet they weren't going to see an upturn in fortunes.
Arsenal are owned by some complete jokers, they have absolute no interest in football, they allowed the club to stagnate with a manager unwilling or unable to change and were too eager to sell players.

Leicester won the league and are in fourth.

Liverpool appointed a fantastic manager, everyone should have been fighting for Klopp, the fact that Liverpool nabbed him so easily was a fantastic coup.

Utd have been hot garbage for years, their best performing season post Fergie was with ironically Mourinho's first year. He greatly overachieved.

This new stadium is nothing but a positive for Tottenham Hotspur, anyone who believes investing in probably the best most modern football stadium and some of the best training facilities in the country is a negative has some delusions. And that persons team is probably 9th in the third division.

Man City moved to The Etihad in 2003 and they've won 10 trophies and the domestic treble.
Boro have won one trophy in their history and it was at The Riverside.
Leicester had never won the league until they moved to their new stadium.

In years to come these are what will be remembered. Nobody talks about our 2nd place finishes in 1922, 1952, 1957 or 1963 or being runners-up in the 1974 UEFA Cup.

I'm hoping I'll wake up from this nightmare soon. While I certainly hope everything goes fabulously well, I doubt it will. ENIC seems to be gambling on Mourinho winning the CL, it seems to me. I think it's both a bad bet and one which shouldn't have been made on principal.

How is that a video?! <laugh>
Now he's just got to poke Pep in the eye, kick Klopp in the nuts and win the Champions League and I might warm to him.

He's the ultimate wind up merchant in football, if he was on Not606 he'd be blocked from every board.

    Agree with this

Poch crying after the Ajax game was uncomfortable to watch and not something a top manager should be doing.

Win the champions league or PL then yeah I can imagine you’d feel emotional but to cry like that just for getting to a final isn’t something managers should be doing

Rumours now that we’ll be looking to hire Luis Campos from Lille as DOF.

He was huge for Monaco during Jardim’s first reign as he helped sign Bernardo Silva, Mendy, Fabinho and Bakayoko.

Looks like we’ll be hoping to make it a triple swoop from Lille too, because if Campos joins Sacremento, Nuno Santos is also linked to be the next GK coach.

Joao Sacramento is set to be appointed assistant manager to Jose, he's currently the assistant manager at Lille.

We used to have a reputation for being ' a cup team' and this term was generally regarded as derogatory term as we were frequently told that the good teams are consistent and win, week in, week out in the league. The consistency of Pochs teams in the league is unmatched by any manager in the modern era. Our average league position under Poch for completed seasons is between 3rd & 4th, that compares to 4th/5th under Harry, but neither won a trophy. In terms of Trophy winning managers average league finish under Bill Nick was 6th/7th (but over a much longer period) 9th/10th under Burkinshaw, 6/7 Venables and 11th/12th man in a raincoat.

So I will remember Poch for getting us challenging in the league and making us a team that was hard to beat (until Jan 2019). I do wish he had won, one of the finals and more of the really big matches, but all in all its been great and I wish him well for the future and I do think he will have success elsewhere.

Lille confirming Sacramento and Santos are joining:

    Google translate says this:

Following talks between LOSC and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, an agreement was reached to endorse the departure of Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos, members of Lille's professional technical staff, and to allow them to join the English club on Wednesday. .

As a first step, LOSC will use internal solutions to compensate for these two departures. Coming soon, the Club will announce a definitive organization.

In Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos, the LOSC wishes all the success in this new project.

    Now our confirmation:

We can now confirm the appointments of Joao Sacramento, Carlos Lalin, Nuno Santos, Ricardo Formosinho and Giovanni Cerra as part of new Head Coach Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff.

Joao joins as Assistant Head Coach from Ligue 1 side Lille, where he worked in a similar role and has also held the same position at Monaco. Nuno also joins from Lille as our new Goalkeeper Coach, having enjoyed a playing career in Portugal and Major League Soccer.

Carlos will take up the position of Fitness Coach, having previously worked with Jose at Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, while Ricardo and Giovanni will take up roles as Tactical Analyst and Technical Analyst respectively. Both have also worked under Jose in the past with Ricardo, a former manager of Santa Clara and Kuala Lumpar, having spent time at Old Trafford, while Giovanni worked as an analyst at both Chelsea and Manchester United.

I couldn’t care less what will be remembered. I want to see us play good football against the best. It’s fun watching us win matches. We’ve won more matches under Poch so more fun.

So. Levy must have been talking to Maureen since ? August? Did he tell Poch he was screwing up Spurs before he fired him?
Seems nasty and sudden to me.
So now we have a manager who ponces about and thinks he's Julius Caesar!....but you know what happened to him...…!

Me too, but i'd also like all that winning to lead to a few trophies. It's very frustrating to see my team have the best GF and GA record in the league but still come 2nd. There were a few seasons there when I thought we were the best team in the league but had nothing to show for it. For me, Pochettino is missing some elusive ingredient that would turn him into a serial trophy winner.
