I've no beef with Mauricio Pochettino getting the sack. Results were terrible and performances worse but I'm struggling to see recent Mourinho being the answer to that. I'm not hugely keen on paying the highest ticket prices in the PL to watch what he's served up of late and got him sacked by Chelsea and United.

If he wins us something meaningful, then I'll reconsider my views but 4 long, long years of The Bloke in the Coat weren't made any better by winning 1 League Cup. If he wins a properly big trophy and doesn't fracture the club, then he'll be a good appointment but I reckon he'll be gone in a season and a half, with nothing to show for it....only time will tell.

Yeah I think we are in a place that should be aiming for more than the League Cup

Levy needs to back his managers too...I don’t get how he isn’t questionable for much. I mean proper backing not save up for 2 windows and spend on the 3rd to appease the blinkered and to not take the piss replacing key players or shifting on deadwood due to over pricing...this needs to be scrutinised too because ultimately it affects our managers as Poch has found out.

If he's not going to get the cheque book out, appointing Mourinho's plain bloody daft.

He will sulk like buggery if he's not backed. He did at United and will be just as bad with us.

I just hope that we'll get a DoF to do the buying and selling. Levy needs to be doing other things.

This is what intrigues me because we all know the personality traits of both Jose and Levy. It doesn’t really fit...so I’m sure these two men will be well aware of each other’s personalities too. So if Jose still comes...what’s the plan of action?

Who has broken their mould out of the two men! Interesting

Multiple sources saying Jose’s agreed. Announcement tomorrow morning.

Some sources saying the morning training session has been moved to the afternoon to allow for the announcement and then for Jose to take charge of training.

Really is just weird (I’ve said weird A LOT over the past few hours!).

Will he bring success? Are his ways outdated? Will he and Levy actually work?

I just hope our fans give Jose a chance...get the feeling the toxicity will come from the fans before him. Lets be honest it’s already brewing in the fans and the man hasn’t even been announced.

Poch’s Net Spend in his tenure was 99 Mill

That’s why we won’t really get anywhere in the long run but looking forward to a new chapter under a revitalised Jose who is always at his best when he has a point to prove.

Jose Mourinho as Spurs manager is allsorts of wrong. I can’t believe it could actually happen and I hope it’s just media talk.

He will turn the club into a circus

The only plus is that it won’t last long and in a year Levy can appoint someone else who will hopefully be able to fix the big mess that Mourinho will undoubtedly leave behind.

    Mourinho confirmed. Unbelievable.

To sack a man with such class that deserved to be backed, and replace him with a man that’s too outspoken in the media and needs an abundance of money to actually produce results.... (how’s that gonna work? <laugh>

The man is going to inevitably clash with Levy, and this will end badly.

VAR has left me feeling quite disengaged from football this season, but this is the icing on the cake.

    Ive got nothing left.

He’s coming into a mess mate...don’t blame the mess on him.

Our club has been a Circus since Eriksen downed tools and player power took over and since Levy took his eye off the ball.

This mess is not on Jose...here’s coming in to try his hand at sorting it...at worst it’s still a mess when he leaves.

I think he over-achieved at Man Utd with the squad he had. Also, he'll probably see us as a chance to have a job where he's close to his family and that was always a problem at Man Utd. Whether he can work within Levy's constraints will be the real question. Maybe there's had to be some concessions from both men; it would be silly to take him on if he has unrealistic expectations with regards to transfer funds.

Look at Chelsea when he left and Man Utd when he left.
Why should that be any different at Spurs. As soon as it goes sour, he will mouth off about how he’s won more titles in his career than Spurs have in their history and how lucky Spurs are to have him etc.

I was Poch out but to be replaced by Jose is such a poor move.

I thought appointing George Graham was as low as Spurs could go but this is worse.

He said it himself that his biggest achievement was finishing 2nd with that United squad...everyone laughed. He was proven right and still is up till this day.

With regards Levy’s constraints...I believe Jose and his people are aware of this...yet they still join us? Levy knows Jose is a big spender, yet he still chased him...you have to wonder why.

Personally I think Levy is just as ruthless as he has always been..one thing I totally respect about him..he doesn’t do sentiment. Probably didn’t trust Poch with a war chest...there some justification in that too.

I’m very excited about this appointment...let’s hope the media circus doesn’t hound him out on the behalf of mass hysteria.

Look at us after having our best manager since donkies. Here we are today...a mess.

His former clubs are fine...United were a mess the day Fergie left..it’s not on Jose...infact he’s won 2 out of the 3 trophies that United have won since Fergie left. He also helped that shower of **** finish 2nd when they are barely top6. He didn’t pander to Pogba and that’s why I bet he’s licking his lips as he stares at Eriksen.

It’s a welcome kick up the arse for our club that seems to have got comfortable with a little bit of success recently.

What a crazy set of events.

One thing’s for sure, we’re gonna get to see if he really is a special one.

Hopefully the fans at the West Ham game and then at Olimpiacos get behind him and give a huge welcome. A lot are hurt over Poch but that shouldn’t stop the new manager getting the support of the fanbase. Like it or not Jose is our gaffer, on here we can all express our opinions, good and bad, but at the match we’ve gotta get behind him and the team.

It’s gonna be so ****ing weird for me though singing his name after years of abuse <laugh>
