He wasnt the finished article but he possessed the attributes that meant he could of been a very good keeper for us. His main down fall was his confidence, by the end of the season it was shot, he was never going to recover. We went out and paid a record fee for the keeper that we hoped karius would turn into. I dont think he was bought as a finished article, the mistakes and certainly the final put pay to another season where he may have improved
Really serious mistake. They sack a manager that has made them punch above their weight. Very few would have achieved that. Who better are they going to recruit? Mourinho is apparently favourite.
Cant see it Not yet Ole seems to have the fans onside and is in the middle of his plans, in fairness probably not even middle, either way think he will be given time. Maybe if Poch has a bit of a timeout. Personally i think something is lined up

Inconceivable that they would have sacked Pochetino without having a replacement lined up. I think Mourinho will arrest the slide. But probably leave after 3 years . Probably? Winning football is always pretty no matter the style. Would any team including ours be happy with so called attractive football in mid table? I think Pochetino will go to the mancs once the 4th place is beyond reach for them. And looking at the rather strange premiership table, a defeat or two for the mancs will drop them to 15th or 16th in just 2 weeks.
Harry Redknapp said that they have been talking to Jose Mourinho for a week whether he is going to take the job or not. MAFIA IN FOOTBALL.
Haven't we done this argument to death over the years? Success and attractive football aren't mutually exclusive. For what it's worth, I'd rather wait and find a manager who gets results the right way (like we have done), than consign ourselves to watching uninspiring football for years for the chance of a minor trophy or two.
This is obvious, and explains the timing. There's no way they could sack Poch one day and appoint José the next without the wheels grinding in the background for a while.
However, I do not think it's the best move for Jose Mourinho. He is going to be under immense pressure. I do not think he will get Tottenham into the champions league next season via the league.
Top four might be tough but is possible. We’re so early in the season so a lot can happen. In a strange way, they’d probably be better off being in the Europa league than the CL in terms of qualifying for CL next season! They’d have a great chance of winning EL under him. They have to play both Utd and Chelsea next month. He’ll relish that. I don’t like Mourinho’s style of football - few here would but few could argue that it doesn’t deliver trophies. I heard a stat this morning that Mourinho has won more major trophies in his career than Spurs have in their existence . Looks like Levy has gone ‘all in’ to get that particular monkey off his back. I predict that it all end in tears. It always does with him.
