Every season I say that I'll 'tick' this and Barcelona, so at least I have now got one out of the way.

This is obviously a fantastic ground BUT not my favourite by a long way.

A few tips for anybody who wants to go and is concerned about how to get tickets.

*The fixtures are not arranged until about three weeks beforehand
*Soccerway is the site to look for confirmation
*Tickets(unless you buy VIP tickets at a minimum of 250 euros) range from 40 to 150 euros, these go on sale 5 working days before the game
*Unless they are playing Barcelona or Atletico tickets are NOT a problem to purchase once in Madrid
*Buy tickets the day before the game preferably

The metro is directly outside the ground, we got to the ground 6 hours and there were thousands of day trippers like me already there. There were numerous touts outside but also many officials directing people to the ticket office. The cheapest available was 75 euros, so a very happy Elf bought two for level 3 which was on the 18 yard line, a great view.

This place is a money making machine, with very little soul tbf. The club shop were selling tops for a staggering 160 euros, at least you had the names/numbers/badges already on!

I can fully understand why you don't want to give your cash to douchatelet, but I don't understand it as a protest. Where possible I avoid giving my cash to tax-avoiding firms, but it's not as a protest, mostly they are very popular because their tax avoidance enables them to undercut their competitors. Withdrawing my custom has zero effect, same as yours with Charlton. I still respect what you are doing though, it's your money to part with any way you want.

Perhaps the usual suspects can digest your final paragraph.

    Have a nice evening.
