He's offering allsorts of impossible things, but he would have given the U.K. keys to ISIS or the Ruskies if he was to be elected anyway, so it wouldn't matter :cheesy:

Correct. However, it does loosen our defence. It's a deterrent and a good one.

Take away the threat of instantly retaliating or even pre-empting a strike on an enemy and in warfare you become a sitting duck. We'd be like Palestine under Corbyn, throwing rocks back at our enemies.

We'd have plenty of defence without the threat of a nuclear weapon that we will never use. I'd prefer if we don't get involved in warfare and focus on spending that kind of money on the country's infrastructure instead.

How can they use the word 'Democrats' when the main plank of their manifesto will be to ignore the result of largest vote in UK history?

Self serving, none democratic, hypocrites! Nothing more, nothing less!!

I think that the behaviour of SAFCY needs to be taken into account.

He/she acts as a rabid mouthpiece for Momentum then winges like a baby when someone posts a counter to his/her agenda.

I can only believe you to be incapable of seeing the larger picture, involving more than terrorism.

Corbyn wouldn't just get rid of the nukes but, if allowed to have his own way, our entire armed forces (he's stated that in the past).

    What then?

Would the NHS be preserved by whichever foreign state had over-run the country?

Who do you believe would be deterred by his pacifist rhetoric or would a game of jacks be used to settle disputes?

Utopian madness which would only ever be considered by unstable dreamers!

Corbyn hasn't said that he would get rid of our entire armed forces. He's aware of the massive difference between the current world and an ideological world where weapons are not needed, hence the Labour plans to support our armed forces.

The idea that he would dispand the armed forces is right wing fake news and scaremongering that is offensive to the intelligence of the people.

After giving it a lot of thought as a leave voter and a labour supporter who thinks Corbyn is hopeless (should stay in his allotment)... Bonko is worse, and after all these years of punishing the less well off for greedy bankers mistakes...I just cannot vote Tory and put Bonko in office (in fact it seems like he may not have a safe seat, and it would be brilliant if he was not elected)

So I am going to hold my nose and vote Labour...

It’s a sad fact that conventional weapons kill a huge, huge amount of people as well. I would also much prefer if the world came to an agreement to stop fighting. In an ideal ‘shiny eyed’ world, wouldn’t that be great
Realistically there is more chance of finding cheese on the moon and I firmly hope that our political elite take proper advice from our military leaders. They are the ones who understand the processes of trying to prevent escalation and of fighting wars. The military, who come from all social backgrounds and all religious persuasions, stand together to defend us from those that hate the west and all it stands for.

The political elite of Japan, in 1945, robustly stated that their whole nation would fight to the death rather than surrender.........had the nuclear weapons not been used, the conventional war could have gone on for months and maybe years, killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. The political elite suddenly realised that they were no longer shouting from the back and that they were in the firing line as well, which stopped them in their tracks.

We are now up against many people who were force fed ancient religious claptrap from a young age, brainwashed into believing that a God is on their side and that they will go to heaven if they kill on that God's behalf. Let’s face it, every piece of religious doctrine has been written by an individual and that doctrine has then been twisted by other individuals to suit their own agenda. With that mindset we will always be up against it, where it will end up.....God only knows, lol, but we have to unite against it, make sure that those individuals understand the consequences of attacking us, and always try to be one step ahead of them....always.

Mr Corbyn doesn’t understand that as he has stated that he will never use nuclear weapons, and I am not even sure that he would sanction conventional weapons. The opposition, therefore, with him at the helm, have the upper hand, and that puts our people, our children, our land and our way of life in certain jeopardy..........we have a matter of weeks to see how it all pans out eh!
Fight for peace yes, but always be prepared for war as that is our position of strength.

Much as I agree with your overall sentiment marra I think it's imperative that we back someone. People died for us to have the vote and we simply have to use that privilege!

It was a vote based on gut feeling, together with the jingoism and racism pushed by the S*n and the Mail. There were very few facts on which to base an informed opinion.
Both sides tried to use scare tactics.
Three and a half years down the line we know a lot more about the damage leaving will cause.
We are about to become a second rate power, kow-towing to the USA.
As for being self-serving and undemocratic, well that applies to every political party.
Disenfranchising the 48% is a bit undemocratic isn't it?
It's a sad, sad, world at the moment.

I'm not sure what you mean by disenfranchising. I'm not sure exactly what you expect the remain voters to get out of this?

The leave vote won so we should be leaving the European Union. I fail to see how anything other than Brexit being delivered is democratic.

We aren't about to become a 2nd rate power. That's just utter nonsense. We'll keep our seat on the G7.

Always voted Labour until Corbyn, besides which they are just so wishy washy, months of mixed signals and deafening silences, I wouldnt even know what I was voting for even if I could see past Corbyn. Wont vote Tory full stop, even though I would like to see Boris walk away with a deal, then just walk away. I always thought that I could always fall back on the Lib 'Dems' but they undemocratically want to cancel Brexit so they are the last party I would vote for. I would prefer Brexit with a deal, so that rules out the Brexit Party and the independent candidate. The Green party want another referendum and would back remain, no thanks!
Thats it! I literally have nobody left to vote for, proper in limbo.

If worst comes to worst I'll spoil my ballot paper as a protest vote just to let them know I don't like what any of them stand for - but I'd still be using my right to vote.
For a long time parliament has been working at odds with the will of the people, and it's reflected in a big reduction in connection with the electorate.
In my opinion there are far too many career politicians who have a degree in political studies, and not enough candidates with experience of life, business and a big cross section of society
