Great idea! Let's cut it to zero and we'll get even more money <cheers>

Yet Boris has scrapped lowering them more as it would cost the Treasury £6bil. Does that mean that the tax rate is at a happy medium now?

We will need to be ultra competitive seeing we are leaving the EU so do as Toby suggests, cut it to zero and all the big multi-nationals will come over here and invest....

.... oh wait, Boris' deal means we can't cut taxes to gain a competitive edge on the EU.

EU law applies to the UK during the transition period (WA, Article 127), and beyond that the Political Declaration obliges the UK to adopt EU rules on state aid rules and ‘relevant tax matters’ (PD, para 77). This all means we can’t change tax rates to be more competitive and can’t assist a strategic industry such as British Steel.

Well done, Boris... another lie to appease the hard of thinking Brexiteers.

To be fair to Mr Trump, he lowered them to was it 10%? And lots of multi national companies went back to USA from offshore. It certainly can work in certain situations.

There are lots of other ways of doing it. Giving free money to big companies seems a bit retarded imho.

True, but if they had some balls they could get all of the money, rather than a tiny bit.

(It's never going to happen btw)

I think the upturn in Europe's economy since the crash is being credited to 19% corporation tax in UK and 30% tax in Germany at the exact same time.

Plenty of EU countries have far lower corporation tax rates than we do so can't see there's anything stopping us?

Why not just put it in print and stop fannying about.

Jeremiah Codbin should be put to the gas chamber.
