Need a big effort these next two games. Palace away is tough and Napoli at home to win the group and give us a rest for the final group game.

Then we have Brighton at home to rotate a little before the big derby game

Need to see who is available though hopefully Matip & Shaqiri are nearing fitness now to give us some cover .

I fear most if Robbo is injured - we don't have a LB at cover, and before anyone suggests Milner, Zaha tore him a new one last year: I'd prefer playing Joe there out of position.

We're going to need that attitude in every game now if we want to win this league. Every game will be tough.
Or at least every game has the potential to be - some may turn out to be comfortable in the end, but we can't go into them with anything other than the attitude that every game is a #mustwin

Yeah the right attitude is something we now have but on some occasions like Palace away we really need to up our game and get the job done.

Absolutely. 8 points is a buffer to drop a couple of points in February. Lose and draw a few games and that gap is gone. Palace will be hard, so will Watford, Everton and Bournemouth, for various reasons.

I agree that in a league full of potential banana skins, they're amongst the slipperier ones.

Palace has lost their last three games. Roy Hodgson's team talk is going to be "good teams do not lose four games in a row "

I think that mind-set is now prevalent (Villa win), but I know what you mean,

    Prediction

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

The Eagles have enjoyed a solid start to the season, with some of the gloss taken off only by virtue of having played Man City, Arsenal, Leicester City and Chelsea in their last four games.

Palace have been miserly at home, conceding just five goals... but the problem is that they have only scored four themselves. This match should be a tight affair, and expect a late goal from the visitors to decide it.
Betting tips and odds via Betfair Exchange

    • Palace to win: 13/2
    • Draw: 4/1
    • Liverpool to win: 40/85
    • Wilfried Zaha is currently dealing with a painful foot injury, and Hodgson will hope his star forward is fit to return for this match.

The only other doubt for the Eagles is Joel Ward, who is suffering from a groin problem.

    • Klopp faces an anxious wait to see if the ankle injury Mohamed Salah suffered a recurrence of against Man City settles down during the international break.

Xherdan Shaqiri is expected back after the break, while Andy Robertson has valuable time to recover from an ankle problem.

Joel Matip may be back in action as well, but Nathaniel Clyne remains a long-term absentee. Jordan Henderson pulled out of England's game in Kosovo on Sunday with a virus, but should have enough time to recover.

      Predicted lineups

Palace: Guaita; Ward, Tomkins, Cahill, Van Aanholt; Townsend, Kouyate, Milivojevic, McArthur, Zaha; Ayew

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Keita, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Origi, Firmino, Mane
    • The match will not be televised live in the UK due to TV blackout rules regarding 3pm kick-offs.

You can follow all the action with Standard Sport's LIVE match blog from Selhurst with David Lynch.

Head to head (H2H) results history

Liverpool dominate this fixture with 29 wins to Palace's 14, along with 11 draws.

The Reds have won the last four League meetings, including a 2-0 victory at Selhurst last August and a thrilling 4-3 encounter at Anfield this January.
    • However, Palace and Liverpool fans will both vividly remember the infamous 3-3 'Crystanbul' draw back in May 2014: the Eagles battled back from 3-0 down with 11 minutes left to seal a draw which left Luis Suarez in tears and hit Liverpool's title hop

    Palace are garbage

We need a comprehensive win to crush City's morale

    I'd take a 0-5 win now

    I'd take 5-4 after going 4-0 down...
