    My son’s football matches are clashing with Woking home games but we made it for the last 30 minutes of the game against Halifax yesterday.

    This was our conversation as we walked into the Kingfield.

    Son: Are Halifax a big club as the name seems familiar?

    Me: It's quite a new club but the old Halifax were in the football league a long time

    Son: Maybe I'm thinking of the DIY shop

    Me: You mean the bank?

    Son: No, the DIY shop. Actually I'm thinking of Screwfix

    Hip hop/grime mostly. Just discovered this, Irish rappers feat Coolio, what’s not to like

    Only thing I hate about grime is the way the idiots speak and it’s spread through youth culture.

    Don't really agree with this, I see New Order as an evolved & improved Joy Division who, although clearly good, were quite limited.

    They were young though so would have become better, as New Order clearly did, but Ian Curtis went and hanged himself!

    Wot? Beatles were shhite (not as independent artists) and like Elvis (the great pretender) manufactured to appeal to the masses. People couldn't even tell the difference between the Beatles and Klattu that's how fooked up it was, i can only assume the fans of the former were tone death <whistle>

    The problem with the Beatles they got inbred into the music industry, that was the standard people had to 'aspire' too (Comm loves that word) - you couldn't fooking get away from it if you tried, it became repetitive and damn right fooking boring (The Beatles I mean).

    No I can’t stand either of the Beatles or Elvis but how far back do you go for who influenced who?

    I like raw music, New Order were too polished for me. My favourite albums by bands tend to be the first albums on most occasions it's that time where the band are singing about life and it's struggles that speaks to me and a lot of bands can't recapture that once they have money and are famous.

    What I mean is as a direct influence to musical style and impetus. Hence;

    Other wise, yeah, all music is influenced in some way by all predecessors, one way or another, from however far back you want to go I suppose.
