    75/76 season for me...
    Winning almost every home game.
Supporting SAFC seemed like guaranteed happiness!!
If only I knew what was to come <doh>

My first game was in 1958 the season we got relegated for the first time, I was nine and no idea who we played.
Started regular in 1961 with my dad and four brothers, started in the Fulwell and moved to the main stand Fulwell paddock next to the players tunnel in 1962 and stayed there till I started work when weekend working was the norm but went whenever I could.

Stood in the Fulwelll end that day with my dad and his brother. They got squashed to **** and vowed never to stand there again. Remember Allison donned in his Fedora waving at the Fulwell End. Someone chucked an apple at him he pretended to take a bite out of it and chucked it back...

57/58 , first full season as a man of independent means, Sunderland the Bank of England club and a team with a proud history as good as any at the time and better than most, and one of only two clubs never to have played outside of the first division. Arsenal were the first victims and I left the ground convinced we had won 2-0, my grasp on football has improved little since, sadly that season did not end well, and I often think why didn't I choose to support Newcastle . <laugh>

1976 Stoke f a cup replay home i think could not get a 6th round ticket, but Crystal pal Home for the 2nd div game in 1979 the one which was played later because of been called off maybe because of our cup run , i have 2 £2.50 seat mainstand lower tickets still in my collection !.

For me it’s because I am a football supporter not an accountant. At one time we had no idea, I sometimes wish for those days.

My first game was 1964. I was six.
I can’t remember who we played.
I took my son when he was three. He cried when we scored. Not because he was happy but because the noise scared the **** out of him and this was the Clock Stand seats !
My grand son is three now but too young. Problem is, his dad who is not part of our family, supports and goes to Man United. Ive got to make sure he supports us and not them.

Am I right in thinking it was a certain young goalkeeper's debut?

The option considered being this, would NUFC, instead of SAFC, have inherited the curse, if I had so chosen :emoticon-0107-sweat. A bit like Chunky's self sacrifice for the common good, my intentions even if futile, were honourable, honest. :emoticon-0111-blush
