Nah not me,I was born in South Shields and lived my whole life in Co. Durham. Loved Durham but not the winters and constant cold rain, a life of plastering does that so I retired just last November, sold everything and ****ed off to Spain.

Na I'm not. That Terry's chippy is a tedious bell end IMO.

It will make things more difficult depending on the type of Brexit we have, if it's a hard Brexit I'll probably have to apply for a European Passport or even apply for Spanish citizenship.
I do know what will happen, the economies of the Costas will crash so it's not in Spains best interests to force expat residents to leave.
The whole thing is just a big mess, I know it's selfish of me for not wanting Brexit but anyone who travels to Europe from Britain will be affected. We have had free movement for years now and that is going to end.
Sorry this is getting way off topic so I'll leave it there.

We were travelling around northern Italy and southern France this spring and received adverse vibes for the first time ever.

We're isolating ourselves and appearing xenophobic to the rest of Europe imo.

It won't end well in the long run and we'll look back with regret.

Without wanting to derail the thread.. I just thought I'd throw in a perspective not talked about with Brexit and trade deals.

I sell electrical products in the UK and EU.. the difference in plug is a pain for some items but for others where we can supply adaptors it's easy.

US products, however, are completely different... 110V to begin with and internally they're made to different standards. No matter what trade deal we strike with the US it won't change the fact that a lot of our products are totally incompatible with those of a market that we'll be relying to sell into.

People argue about EU imposing standards.... we won't have a choice (as the smaller country) but to adopt US standards if we go full Brexit. We'll need to sell and the US won't change to suit us. It's a nice sounding thing to do deals with the US, but the practicalities appear to have been ignored.

I could go on about missed investment caused by Brexit and other woes that it has caused me, but I will try to stop there!

I have read some real horror stories especially with regard to availability and accessibility of health care as you get older. People who have lived in other European countries for eons. Brexit will mean their costs will rise enormously.
Meanwhile boris ( lying fat twat as Peter reid aptly called him ) and Farage ( a bigger lying twat I shall aptly call him ) are playing politics. Disgraceful. As smug said we will all ( even the little englanders ) will look back with regret. especially when boris gives the NHS to trump as a thank you.

Aye and when Nissan moves to a country on the continent because it is in the EU, the turkeys will have their Xmas wish. 20,000 people on the dole.

Funny how things go round and round .... I've just had a WhatsApp from the Italian fella I mentioned in the OP.

Anyone who reads my ramblings would know he was in the States, selling chunks of his pharmaceutical research company at the same time the Dell boys were openly talking about buying SAFC. That's how I was privy to much on the info I posted about their feasibility studies into Sheepfolds, AOL, club badge, etc.

Anyway Mr Tonna messaged us last night to say the sale of his assets is going to plan and he'll be buying near Windsor and in Monaco and France plus retaining his place in Switzerland. He wants me and Mrs Smug to manage them all as they're bought and base ourselves in the Windsor property.

Now, that's all irrelevant to the thread but so are many other posts, no big deal ....

.... I just wanted to post it for my own amusement.

The people we're currently working for are dreary and we hate Groundhog Day jobs.

So the wait it is on for the sale of the business ...

.... funny how my life and SAFC are once more entwined.

I would've never guessed that, I've never been over that way. I've been in northern Spain and driven down from Santander to the Costa del Sol.

I have 2 nephews who have very serious business development roles in the NE.
They have both heard from separate sources that Nissan will be gone.
The Tories shut the coal mines and shipyards. Now they will get rid of nissan too.
The charity shops and foodbanks are going to be doing brisk business thanks to the lies of negro hating nigel and boris the wife basher.

    Roppa,
I think you misspelt it it should be Finestrat not Finerstadt which i mistook for Filderstadt which is in Germany.
Have you visited Finestrat? I've just googled it and it looks great, love that mountain next to the town.
