I know it’s in the ****ing Daily Mail but there are quotes, I hope this isn’t true because Cardiff took some terrible press over Emiliano Sala, if it is £200k is peanuts Hull City refuse to pay Barnsley £200k instalment for Angus MacDonald https://mol.im/a/7691257
I’ve read it again, it seems the club have been mislead by Barnsley about his iron deficiency which could have led to his blood clot issue, would any club take a chance on a player with that condition and would the transfer fee been so high. A bit like buying a new car and finding out later it’s a cut and shut, the club are withholding final payment, I don’t blame them
Given their recent efforts to right their previous wrongs this is a blow. It's trademark ****ishness that we've grown accustomed to, but as the Mail is currently being sued by Royalty, let's hope ..........
We all know the Allams can be twats and this is obviously bad PR, but the action has absolutely nothing to do with the fact he has cancer and the Mail headline is just typical Mail.
If the club where mislead by Barnsley then the club ( as any club would ) are right to withhold it until it's sorted. It has nothing to do with the owners being ****s etc. I'm pretty sure it's not even the Allams that how made that choice, it will have been their legal team
HDM **** stirring again. Similar to the one earlier in the week when they headlined that Hull City had turfed a fan out of the ground for wearing head phones. As for Angus McDonald didn't Barnsley say at the time they were moving him on because of a disciplinary issue at the club ? Something to do with head butting ?
It's the Daily Mail, not the Hull Daily Mail. Barnsley certainly said he had an iron deficiency, which is going to make legal action for not declaring an iron deficiency, a little problematic.
Exactly my first thought, we don't know if there is something in the contract that relates to his health situation when he was signed that they have found out is the root cause of his problems with for example DVT, he has been out through ill-health a lot, and maybe there is something in the agreement that makes them feel they can challenge it. There again it's the Daily Mail so it could all be bollocks.
I just feel in this situation. You bite the bullet and pay the £200k and save yourself looking like dicks and the bad PR.
How much did they lose over the Ryan Mason incident ? Could that reflect on the attitude taken here ?
“Who has been diagnosed with cancer.” Which has nothing to do with what the case is about. Not sure why we aren’t paying though. Maybe payback against Chien Lee for not buying us.
I understand where you’re coming from. I bought some apples from Asda. One turned out to be off so now every time I go to Tesco I’m only willing to pay for half my apples.
Not if you'd paid £12m for them and only received £1m in compensation you wouldn't. Besides, I got the impression you were more of an Aldi man.
I'm loathe to believe anything printed in DM. However if lawyers think there is a case for not paying the final installment it has to be explored no matter what the chattering classes might make of it. £200k isn't peanuts and it shouldn't be handed over if shenanigans can be proven. It's just business, distasteful maybe but it's still business.
So if you lose out at one shop you should refuse to pay the bill at another? That’s idiotic. I get the impression you’re more a self righteous & judgmental **** who has his nose that far up Allam’s back crack you have his **** in your hair.
I remember when we signed him and everybody was wondering why Barnsley would let him go when he'd been the club captain
