Personally I do t think Sterling has been too bad in all this He is clearly still upset He has been a nobend initially but then following that he has behaved normally English management allowed the story out and Peps continually whinging As a manager sends out vibes to the players imho.
What?? He assaulted someone!! Show me another job or situation, anywhere in the western world where this would not lead to legal action, prosecution and loss of job! Sterling is a tw@t who’s been told the implications of what he’s done and shat himself - a couple of tweets doesn’t change his behaviour....we’ll see it again before his career is out because that’s what he actually is.
The assault was the nobhead at the start but bit. It’s an emotional game - I never have believed that footballers can be treated like a normal job - Jason cundy is always changing the goalposts on that. Being a pro football is totally removed from what we do. For me it is not assault Gomez was winding him up sat as were our fans Where in any other job would all the members of public be allowed to direct the abuse that Sterling received at our end Not condoning it but since the argument he has made all the right sounds just my opinion.
If it was at the match, then your argument would hold water and he would have been punished under the rules of the game - he probably would have also been investigated by the police for assault though. But it was in a canteen a couple of days after - all of this ‘it’s an emotional game’ that long after the event is simply excuse making - just saying. Suarez was emotional when he marked someone on the pitch. Sterling has similarly marked someone off the pitch on FA property - he should be banned like Suarez correctly was. Or is it different because he’s English?
Imagine fans mocking players of rival teams, strange that! But also a sign of the love people have for Sterling.
Rival teams?, It was England ffs, some dopes still believe Gomez was as responsible for Sterling missing the game as the little rat himself. You and your friends should listen to what your anti-hero actually says.
Who said he was my hero, yeah...you! So here you call him a rat, maybe mocked Kane etc.(Never when they played for England mind......)
Mocked Kane?, who, me, Sterling, Gomez or you? I base referring to him as a rodent based on the manner in which he left LFC the same way I don't like his fellow rats McMannaman and little Mikey. What do you and the rest of Sterling's love machine base your justification of the abuse Gomez faced on?
Not said it was justified. Stop reading what isn’t written. I did say it shows the love England fans have for Sterling however.
Being so "emotional" he (allegedly) assaulted his girlfriend plus a coworker the day after a disagreement suggests serious mental issues As @SIR_KENNY_KLOPP_KING said this pattern will repeat itself throughout his career, so let's he how far he finally goes before being handed meaningful punishment
Nope, you brought mocking Kane into the conversation, why? The booing doesn't show love for Sterling it shows those that did it are as thick as an Eskimo's overcoat, Gomez has hardly been a villain in his so far short career.
And comparatively, they do it for free Sterling and his temper get paid £300k/week to be in the public eye. No comparison really. I’m fed up with people making excuses for him. I hope he’s prosecuted or banned.
City's appeal kicked out by CAS, Uefa free to punish the financial cheats, Champions League ban on the way. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50435304
I'm not going to get into a mud-slinging contest, but I question that. The England fanbase has always had regional or club-based factions. There will be some who will jump at any opportunity to have a go at a Liverpool player, whatever the circumstances. Similarly, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a rival section gave Sterling abuse at his next game.
