Apparently one of Montenegro's maxims is “If you have the urge to work, sit down, wait and you’ll see it will pass.”

    I like Montenegro.

    Our 1000th game.

    Their 102nd.

So we should win by approximately 10 - 0.

I think that's how it works.

My prediction is people will grumble about the performance and the result, whatever it is.

Great to see Chamberlain back in the England fold, and on the scoresheet too. He improves England massively imo.

    Cracking pass by Chilwell.

At this rate we'll be there by half time.

When was the last time someone scored a hat trick for England that quickly?

EDIT: Shearer did it in 1999 against the giants of Luxembourg. Honestly expected it to have been longer ago than that.

Another kicking dished out to a minnow country with minuscule resources.

Disturbing to see how many people there seem to be getting excited about it.

Sign of an unsophisticated football culture reared on Top 6 neediness.

too much pointless aimless time-wasting passing by england at the end of that half

A few years ago England would've struggled past this ****show with maybe a 2-0 win at best.

    That's why.

england always stopped at 2-0. they were mega-boring in those days. you'd think a few minutes before halftime and five up they'd half a bit more of a go.

Anyway, more interestingly,, who gets the royalties (Verve or the Stones?) from that bit of 'Bittersweet Symphony' ITV always use?

well, you might not have thought it, but i did. i could have had a longer halftime break if i'd known. i'd left the room for two seconds when kane got his second.

Don’t know, but Jimmy Greaves has the record for most hat tricks for England, 6. Impressive as he only played 57 times, a lot less than many others, and not many of those games were friendlies.
Only 4 players have scored 5 goals for England. They still mention one of them, Steve Bloomer,in a song before every Derby game, the most recent was Malcolm MacDonald. If they don ‘t make a load of substitutions that list could increase tonight.

The Verve now. They got the rights back in April of this year.

    As they always should've.

I checked, it was Shearer in 1999 against Luxembourg, which is more recently than I expected.

Lineker did it against Poland at Mexico 86 too.
