When your team is weighted to attack it's not always easy to get the balance right in defence. This is a problem that we've had for many seasons. We've now got defenders who are a cut above, but even they can be left exposed by our attacking philosophy. City can be dazzling going forward at times, and this tends to mask the fact that their defence is a bit pedestrian (for a team of their standing). They can be got at far more often than they are, if only teams were willing to go at them, but the fear of a 5 or 6 nil drubbing holds too many back. It's still the same for us at times - it can be seen in some European games where the opposition hasn't yet learned to fear our attack.
#bbcsalford still whining "But City were on the wrong side of a match-defining moment on this occasion when they were convinced they should have been awarded a penalty for a Trent Alexander-Arnold handball moments before Fabinho struck the opening goal."
Silva also handballed so even if a goal from open play came after that, VAR would have ruled it out. At least that's what they were telling us as explanation following Mané's goal. Position of arms and /or intention are out the window now. Or has that changed again?
Its really weird because even if you’re annoyed the pen decision wasn’t given. It was 1 decision in a match of how many? The second one I’ve seen some people moaning that Salah was offside but he clearly wasn’t so no issue there. the second handball everyone knows was never a handball so they can’t seriously have issues with that one? there were no other pen decision, dodgy fouls, yellows instead of reds etc so what will this formal complain actually detail?
Pep is just a prick. Pep on VAR after the 2-2 draw with Spurs: "We have to accept it" He'll do anything to not have to admit to himself he played De Bruyne out of position and can't coach defenders
Probably that there's a conspiracy and that the Premier League, the FA, Uefa, VAR and the PGMOL are all involved and making sure Liverpool win the league and Champions League this season.
Or an Everton forum, in which case you missed out player doping, because there's no way our players are legitimately that fit and fast
In one sense I'm glad they've taken this step - it'll be fascinating to see how the PL deal with this. Obviously they hate to undermine their officials, and there have been far worse travesties left unattended recently - so will they censure City for a trivial complaint?
