He is certainly better than Kay Burley who empty chairs James Cleverly for not turning up at an interview for her …. turns out that he had already been booked to appear on LBC Radio News and he was not listed to appear on Sky anyway! Can't see an apology from her for this misunderstanding? Almost as if she has a personal agender?
I have just caught up on last weeks episode of the Met and guess what ....yet more cultural enrichment The main crime was a lovely murder on a bus in New Cross. The aggressor did not appear to be English. Meanwhile in Croydon, officers in a patrol car tried to apprehend a pair of drug dealers, and were forced to draw their Tasers and summon a dog unit. Once again, the aggressors were potential doctors & youth workers who have briefly strayed onto the wrong path in life.
Royston why do you bother watching the programme when you know what's going to happen and it'll send you into a frenzy. Saying that I suppose it's a bit like going to millwall
Minder is and always will be the greatest TV show ever made. It's chicken soup for the soul. I just watched To Hull and Back. OFAH at its best. 90 minutes of comedy class. Next up is my Porridge box set. This country truly is a goldmine of quality TV.
Indeed it is. An added bonus is the appearance of the late, great Ralph Bates (Dear John, another classic).
Another brilliant skewering by Andrew Neil of 2 hapless victims trying to defend the indefensible, one Labour and one Scotnat.
Does anyone else watch Fare Dodgers? The mind boggles at how many people cheat the system on a daily basis.
Once upon a time the BBC was quite innovative before it became scared of its own shadow. Programs like The Wednesday Play and Comedy Playhouse encouraged new creative talent. One-off shows which developed into comedy series included Steptoe & Son, Till Death us do Part, Last of the Summer Wine, The Liver Birds, Are You being Served.
In the Minder episode I referred to, the Major from Fawlty Towers was Arthur’s accomplice in smuggling duty free into the UK. Charlie Chisholm was on the case. Ray Winstone was Terry’s sidekick.
I only watched one episode, the one where a Kosovan refugee who'd settled here 20 years ago, married, paid taxes etc was thrashed to within an inch of his life by a group who were filmed shortly before saying "He shouldn't even be in this country"
