Depends. If it’s a hung parliament, Corbyn will have succeeded. That’s about as much as any of us can hope for.
Actually, we can hope for a Labour victory. Just like we can hope for Saints to stay up this season. The odds may be stacked against us, but I’m not ready to give up on either yet.
My area has always been conservative and probably always will be. However it was also quite a strong remain area in the referendum. Now i voted to leave the EU back then but i certainly will not be voting Tory. Having said that I bet my last pound that after the election it will still be a tory area which really shows that remainers are just as stupid as brexiteers.
Agreed. The fact is that a lot of voters see Corbyn as a throwback to the 70's and don't take to him, but if Labour can keep pushing a 'fair and caring society' message that is likely to have a big impact on the result. Let's not give up hope, or forget that a vast number of people in this country are waking up to the idea that Brexit is likely to cost them a great deal personally.
No, a hung parliament is the best that we can expect and hope for. In football terms a Labour victory is the equivalent of a Southampton v Norwich fixture in nest years Champions League! On a more positive note the Tory lead in the average of the polls has been cut to 8.6%. It represents a 3% swing Labour to Tory, sufficiently small to deny them an overall majority. Just watched John McDonnell. So much better than Corbyn at getting through to the voters we need.
For my job, I get around to a lot of different hospitals in all different places. In general chats with people, I have not once met someone that likes Jeremy corbyn. This is in mostly NHS hospitals as well, who mostly despise the tories. May be a small sample size, but I honestly dont think he stands a chance. The early smear campaign has worked a charm. Most people dont take the time to look into these things. The fence-sitters just see the headlines.
I'm not so sure. MrsNo7 voted leave (I know...but i can't [or want to] control her mind ) and has always been pro tory. She hates Corbyn, but thinks Boris is a slimy big fat liar. She said only this morning that there is no point in voting Labour in Bournemouth West as the Tories always win. I pointed out that if you and everyone else vote with what you want, then maybe they don't. She has said that though she doesn't like Corbyn, she trusts Labour as a party more, so will probably do that. I pointed out it is not like the US where we have a president - we vote for a party, not a person. FWIW, she has admitted she wouldn't vote for leave now, knowing what she does.
Huge ambition that against what many are calling the most incompetent Tories ever, surely a majority should be the target?
Interesting you say that, as I work in the NHS and it's a similar experience to what I've had - including lifelong labour voters who say they won't go near him.
Progress made, better than I've managed with some of my family but most are unhappy to say the least with spaffer and his cronies, their lies and deceit so well shown on the Led by Donkeys posters. One or two have changed to stay once they realised the reality and had got the anti government of the time vote out of their system. Bit of a "oh what the donald have I done". I know Corbyn is a decent man but think Keir Stammer as party leader would make Labour far more electable.
Brexit robs the UK of a major player in the Green Industrial Revolution: https://www.theguardian.com/technol...for-european-plant-elon-musk?CMP=share_btn_fb We really are a bunch of idiots.
If it's a choice between setting up a factory in the UK, being able to freely export to the UK but having to go through barriers and potential tariffs to export to the EU. Or set up in EU, trade freely with the whole EU and just have barriers to the UK, it's obvious what a company will choose.
Or, you could set up in the UK and export freely to the rest of the EU and most of the rest of the world. All it takes is to Revoke Article 50.
I don’t understand this. I base my opinion on Corbyn on how he comes across in interviews and on what he believes in and the direction in which he wants to take the country. Although I don’t agree with everything he says, or the manner in which he sometimes presents himself, I don’t see anything that evokes the almost universal dislike of him. I have suggested before that it is not only the supporters of other parties who have had their views twisted by the headlines they read in their newspaper. I think Labour supporters are just as guilty of falling into this trap. Whenever I question people on it, they just quote right wing newspaper headlines, most of which are blatant lies, but that unfortunately is how right wing politics work, these days. There’s a guy at work, who nobody likes, yet no one minds working with him, because he is bloody good at what he does. I think people should concentrate more on JC’s manifesto rather than him.

Same where I work . A few , but not all thankfully Labour supporters are saying " How can you vote for someone who looks like that " . One even says he will never vote for someone called Jeremy Reminds me of the Kinnock days " I am labour , but no way will I vote for a Ginger Welshman " . Shallow as you can get !
